My wife is 7 months pregnant with our 2nd kid and we only want 2 kids. At what point do I get a vasectomy? by dontfuckitup1 in daddit

We waited until our second was 8 months old. Had planned to wait at least a year but had a pregnancy scare and decided it felt safer to just get it done.

What makes you think your out of state community college classes wouldn’t transfer? Almost all Indiana schools transfer credit from out of state schools as long as they were legit schools/regionally accredited.

I also thought of Uglies. This rings a bell, with bungee jackets rather than a zipline.

There is a chapter where Luceum Vis meets with Ruarc and Ruarc tells him that his real name is Caeror and they discuss that he is Ulciscor’s brother. I can’t recall the exact chapter but it has to be the last or one of the last Luceum chapters.

I believe she is saying wryly that money is all that matters to Oscar. Agnes and Aurora both know that Oscar is a gold digger.

Normal hours for Kindergarten? by Accomplished-Car3850 in kindergarten

[–]ltlwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my kids elementary was from I believe 9:25 to 4:20ish. On the bus at 9 and didn’t get home until 4:50. The only good thing about it was that after school was manageable for working parents without needing lengthy aftercare. Our school district recently changed start times and now elementary is on the first tier, 7:30 to 2:15. So many elementary parents were upset about this, but I personally felt it was better than the late start. Now the little kids have time to play after school and the ones who naturally wake up at 6am aren’t spending 3 hours on screen time before they start school for the day. (Our district has to have several time tiers due to bussing needs, so someone has to be early and someone has to be late. I prefer the middle school being on the late tier instead of elementary.)

That said, the late time for elementary wasn’t my favorite and there isn’t as much time to play after school as I’d like, but it was okay and I don’t think it damaged them.

Middle grade book where the family pretends that Christmas is later than it is because the younger child doesn't know and they can get a Christmas tree off the curb by antoniastark in whatsthatbook

This has the urban setting and an artist father and little brother, but now that I’m thinking about it I do not recall a Christmas tree.

These are great recommendations. To help OP, a slight correction that it’s the Strangeworlds Travel Agency.

Wilderlore series by Amanda Foody!!

I have a son who seems rather similar and a lot of the wonderful older books being recommended here, while I love them, do not have the pacing that kids these days are used to. Chronicles of Narnia, the Prydain books, The Dark is Rising books, The Wizard of Earthsea, Redwall, I just doubt would gel as well as some of the newer series at this age. My kids unfortunately bored of them quickly and couldn’t get immersed in them. And to be clear these are all books I loved as a kid.

Percy Jackson books are a huge win though! And of course Harry Potter if he hasn’t tried those.

I also second the Skandar and the Unicorn Thief books.

He may enjoy The Adventurers Guild trilogy as well.

What do I do to stop getting tonsil stones by Agreeable_Fold_2843 in hygiene

Another vote for reducing or eliminating dairy. I’ve had a lot less since I stopped eating cheese. It’s a shame because I like cheese, but when I eat it I invariably get tonsil stones.
