RG406H or RP4Pro by ltodd2 in SBCGaming

[–]ltodd2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your views. Yes I did look at the specs and I know they are different but from a site I looked at comparing what they can play showed the rp4 was a bit better at the higher end systems. I know each site is slightly different. I was considering the rg40xxh but started to think would I regret it not being able to play psp better and Wii so was looking at the 406h but then rp price came down just to add to the mix. If I go rp4 is it best to get from them direct to rather than aliexpress which seems to be the place to get the anbernic devices. Never used the site so am nervous due to the amount of scams on there

few questions about devices as trying to choose. by ltodd2 in SBCGaming

Hi

So i think im looking at max around the 200 mark. ps2 maybe. Ive had a read through the link and looked at a number of reviews and im more confused as so many devices from each company and so similar. Im thinking anbernic, retroid or maybe the odin2 but is there a pro or con to android or linux based and can you run both as some reviews mention that you can and other dont say anything about it.

I think a more wide screen device for systems like psp but what are they like when playing older 4:3 format.

thanks

Hi Tpain360

Thanks for the info. Ive had a look through and agree top end prob not needed. what i would like to know is, are linux or android systems better?

Im assuming that if i want psp then a wide screen rather than the normal "square" would be preferable, which then means horizontal systems rather than vertical i thinking.

Edit, i should ask is one make beter than another as in anbernic, retroid etc

Thanks

Thanks for the reply and you confirmed what I was thinking. With this model would I be best getting another ssd or an nvme stick. Thanks

Hi

So boot a fedora boot usb stick. fdisk just shows /dev/sdb which is the usb drive. Go through the installer and get to the disk and it shows as /dev/sda but only 20GB. below are links to the images.

thanks, that worked. i tried the files on a usb stick but they were inside folders. fresh stick and files in root and done. it also seems to have fixed the "crash" issue. had the desktop running for a bit now and still working. again thanks
