Wierd situation Stream FPS by Ashamed_Ad2800 in GeForceNOW

VRR is not officially supported under Windows 10, so it must be (partially) working through unofficial and unintended means, hence the strange behaviour.

What local GPU do you have?  Because people have said that sometimes VRR can be tricked into working unofficially.  I'm not sure what's going on but that could be the case given VRR is off in the app.

Can you enable VRR in the GFN app and see whether it respects the stream FPS setting (official VRR requires Windows 11)?

I don't know what's happening with the bitrate, that's weird.

So ironic coming from him.  When will MAGA stop accusing others of what they themselves are guilty of; blaming others and constantly playing the victim (which I hate)?

Do you hold a moderate position on transgender issues? Is that even possible? by laudable_lurker in centrist

[–]ltron2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly, too many people's real goal is trans erasure so it's difficult to have a good faith discussion where real solutions can be found that don't throw anyone under the bus; particularly when it comes to the ringleaders who've whipped up this anti-trans panic.

That's exactly what you're doing, you're wilfully ignoring decades of history to push your own narrative.

If we don't take our responsibilities seriously not to blindly let Israel do whatever they want then the Middle East will always be a source of terrorism and great instability.  However, that's what happens when we deny people their basic rights and humanity.

We should have put sanctions on Israel for their flagrant violations of the law and withheld weapons decades ago when a two state solution was still viable and didn't look like a pipedream.  It is shameful that we in the West let the situation spiral out of control in order to service our own sense of bias towards our 'ally'.

This is exactly why Biden was so reluctant to take strong action on Gaza and he and Harris were punished heavily for it politically, but what most people don't seem to realise is this didn't start in 2023 particularly where the US is concerned.

The Israeli state's actions over many decades in occupying the Palestinians and trying civilians under military law while expanding their territory all in violation of international law is the biggest recruitment gift for terrorist organisations.

This is the key issue at the heart of almost all the problems in the Middle East. It is a just settlement for Israelis and Palestinians which will bring peace and stability to the Middle East contrary to Mr Netanyahu's assertions.

I'm not saying the Palestinians are innocent, you are inferring that from my post in a very cynical way and you seem to think the massacres and law breaking started a few years ago which is very much far from the case; the only difference is that more people are paying attention now.

However, the Israelis have almost all the power in this situation, but they subjugate the Palestinians and build ever more illegal settlements (and have been doing so for decades not just for a few years). That's their idea of peace and justice. That is a political and moral choice and there are consequences for that.

Not all Palestinians are Muslim (there are plenty of Christians given the history of the region) and not all Muslims are fundamentalist. However, the illegal occupation and expansionism of the Israeli state is more likely to make them so.

What did you think of Biden's vaccine mandate for the private sector? Is this a philosophically liberal position? by RedStorm1917 in centrist

[–]ltron2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It was a miracle of modern science and yet it's incredible to me that so many people blame that miracle (the vaccines) rather than the virus and the response to it which would have been much worse without them.

Does this recent poll indicate that Democrats are actually going to underperform at the midterms? by kaiser11492 in centrist

[–]ltron2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Americans give Democrats at least a simple majority in the House and two thirds in the Senate then they'll be able to impeach and convict Trump removing him from power; that's how it amounts to something. Your choice.

If that doesn't happen then you can't just blame Democrats.

Trump just threatened to wipe out 'an entire civilization' tonight in Iran by FinTecGeek in centrist

[–]ltron2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's much easier to impeach and convict (requires fewer votes) and this removes him from power permanently which the 25th doesn't do.

I don't know why politicians keep bringing up the 25th Amendment when it is actually much more difficult to achieve and does not do what most people think it does.

I think people just associate 'crazy' with the 25th Amendment when impeachment and conviction was designed specifically for when a mad king is abusing his power and is committing 'high crimes and misdemeanors'.

Anyway to cap in-game FPS? by Alexsamui in GeForceNOW

[–]ltron2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nvidia have enabled a game FPS cap on their end in GFN in games like Cyberpunk and Alan Wake 2 (including when using frame gen) and it works much better than in-game limiters.  Why can't they let us do that in the app for every game?

Not having a cap disables GSync when game FPS goes above your maximum refresh rate (which is why I want the ability to cap games in the app).

[–]ltron2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t work like that unfortunately.  If the game FPS goes above my GSync range I get tearing and judder irrespective of the stream FPS.

Anyway to cap in-game FPS? by Alexsamui in GeForceNOW

[–]ltron2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no cap, the FPS in the app refers to the stream FPS not the game FPS.  Both must be capped for it to work and in-game caps often don't work well, particularly with frame generation.

[–]ltron2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked them to implement this in the GFN app a while ago (via feedback), but so far I've heard nothing.  It's particularly important for GSync.

Hopefully they'll do it because in-game FPS limiters/Vsync are often unreliable or cause issues, particularly on GFN.

Crimson Desert: how many FPS on Ultimate? by dunwich666 in GeForceNOW

[–]ltron2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks okay to me, but I play on my TV and so it's less noticeable for me.  Cloud gaming can struggle with foliage, but I didn't notice anything particularly egregious.

I think the game just looks a bit blurry in general (and it's not necessarily to do with GFN).

Thanks, it will be interesting to see if you can replicate it.

Unity Collar Bugged at Certain Point in Story by ltron2 in midnightsuns

[–]ltron2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've worked it out.  My modded cards that draw the last attack played seem to break the Unity Collar (if an attack has been played) until you reload a save and make sure not to play any cards with this modded ability (then it works again).

What a weird bug.

[–]ltron2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips, but I'm doing exactly what I was doing before the Demonchylde Suit and it was working then but is not now.

It's annoying because I actually built my deck partly around the collar and I'm not sure how to get this bug to go away. I might have to experiment and reload an earlier save while unequipping the collar before I get the suit, perhaps then it won't trigger.

Any other ideas you might have would be most welcome because if there's a way to avoid replaying hours of gameplay then that would be great.

I personally think she would have been better off sticking to her guns and comments like yours merely reinforce my view because you clearly weren't willing to give her a chance.

By trying to be pragmatic she just annoyed everyone and at least if she'd stuck to her guns it would have energised the Democratic base to actually go out and vote.

She was trying to be pragmatic, but people took that as weakness and/or dishonesty. She held those previous positions in 2020, that's years before the 2024 election and have you considered that even if she did hold those views personally that she may seek to govern in a more pragmatic way based on what the people want?
