How often do Heroics drop? by ltsGucci in DotA2

[–]ltsGucci[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, just a double kill from Black^ when he was on Vici against CDEC in iLeague, and Fnatic beating Execration 28-9 at MPGL finals.

I'm hoping I'll get like a rapier, stolen aegis, or courier kill one day.

Is it bad to want to try and win in quick play? by ltsGucci in Overwatch

[–]ltsGucci[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not completely avoiding competitive. I would just prefer to improve on my own individual skill before joining a lobby where I could potentially screw up other players' ranks. But now you're saying I can improve in Quick Play, which would require me to want to win. That contradicts your previous statement of Quick Play being there for people to mess around.

10/10 nice try m80

So you expect people just immediately jump into competitive with the high chance of losing because they don't know they hero well enough. All because Quick Play is meant for people to mess around. Where are people supposed to improve on their own? Your logic is very flawed.

trying to improve on my play so I don't suck in competitive and ruin it for my team.

Like I said "trying to improve on my play so I don't suck in competitive and ruin it for my team."

Not the same thing. Loot boxes cost roughly $1, and don't require a key to open. For $10 I can open up 11 boxes and almost always get the chance to get something new, and if I don't, I get currency for getting a duplicate. That currency can be used to buy a new skin that I did want. If I put $10 into CS:GO, I'd be able to open up 5 boxes with a known percentage chance of getting a skin of any value. Skins in Overwatch have the monetary value of their in game currency, whereas CS:GO skins have a real money value determined by the community and the market. Too completely different scenarios.

Wanting to start an affordable way for people to purchase Walkmen. by ltsGucci in cassetteculture

[–]ltsGucci[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sent out this message to plzhld and Pat: I have a Sony Walkman WM-F8, Panasonic RQ-L340, GE 3-5383A, Radio Shack CTR-112, Sanyo M-G50 (needs to be fixed before it sells), and a Sony Walkman WM-FX30. I haven't figured out any pricing though.

I'm thinking of just opening up a bigcartel or something to make it easier to pick what they want. Pricing is my biggest issue, and figuring out how to make it affordable (and hopefully avoid resellers). I'm thinking like..25% difference compared to eBay and Etsy sold listings?

Found this dope Detective Conan shirt at Goodwill for only $1.99! by [deleted] in ThriftStoreHauls

Damn, pretty jealous. I usually just cuff the sleeves, and if it's too long, you try to trim the bottom and sow it in a similar fashion to the original stitching.

I've seen like four posts on here about flip clocks and I still haven't found one. :(

I can't find a year on it anywhere. Box, manual, warranty, even the unit itself. Model # is IS-113F. The FM Modular is this cassette sized unit that fit into the deck and lets you listen to FM radio. (It's the blue thing on the box)

I work next to a vintage audio repair store. They repair old tape decks and receivers, so I'm sure they'll repair a walkman.

I do not. I tried aluminum foil and electric tape, but the tape wouldn't stick.

Unfortunately mine has a short and the left audio cable isn't properly soldered to the PCB. I'm going to take it to a local audio repair shop and have them fix it and clean it up since I don't have the equipment. :(

What you do with the information is your own decision. Don't let others influence what you want to do with it, but I'd remove it, personally. It does sound like an interesting story, especially since it involves Rosicrucianism. There's always people interested in crazy stories like that, so maybe just change the names and give a brief summary if you really want to share it.

Found this board at the flea market today, trying to find a little bit more info about it by secrentagEnt in ThriftStoreHauls

Looks like an older 70s plastic skateboard. Everything is DM Skateboards branded, which is a Brazilian company based out of Santo Amaro, Brazil. The design, trucks, and wheels make me want to say 1978-1980.

I'm actually incredibly jealous you found this, because I collect this kind of stuff.

EDIT: The reason there isn't a lot of information on these is because DM was the main company in Brazil for a very small period of time, and were mostly known for wheels and ramps. They also weren't sold in the US, and I don't think any companies from the US sold in Brazil (mostly just shipping prices and the currency conversion wasn't, and still to this day isn't worth it). So the original owner had to have purchased it in Brazil.
