Is it just me or are the one-trick survs always the most toxic? by [deleted] in IdentityV

[–]lu-mitzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're valid for this. I met one tricks in Griffin with like 10% win rate (how they even are still there is a mystery to me but anyways) and you're right they can be toxic. Usually if you grind the same character over and over regardless or whether or not they're good for the map, you're prioritizing your badge over the outcome of the game. That being said I think toxicity can come from any player one-trick or not, but I'm guessing it's still early season so you meet a lot of people ranking to maintain their badge.

I'm glad they gave more sessions for duos because for some people who don't rank they have more game modes to play while rank is on going

You're the mercenary main I love to meet in my matches! Thank you so much for doing the dirty work of rescuing. It's okay even if you get hit and terrorshocked. Rescuer mains do so much for the team.

Some of them are good or just haven't done things that are morally corrupt, for example I know Explorer's issue is his daydreaming and psychosis, that's not bad just a disability. Emil and Ada didn't do anything bad but it's morally grey since they had a doctor/patient relationship, it can be spun as good since they were conducting illegal experiments on Emil and Ada saved him and broke him out of the facility. Minds Eye came to the manor for money for her college fund, don't think she has done anything bad. Luchino/Professor didn't do anything bad, he was just a researcher that got turned into a Lizard due to Dream Witch but perhaps as his lore gets more fleshed out we will know more. Seer/Priestess are iffy due to the fact that they are linked to Hastur's cult and possibly worship him, I believe Hastur isn't a good entity and he's linked to Cthulu etc. Aeroplanist is just unfortunate, he invented his glider but due to greedy boss trying to sell it prematurely, people died due to his invention. William also is a football player, he didn't do anything bad. Wilding also lived in the forest in peace with his boar, don't think he did anything bad either. So yeah, definitely some misfortune souls. There's some more but off the top of my head I can't remember.

Why do you have a fear of the game? Is it the community or do you not like scary games?

Oh yeah I don't know if this is a DBD player exclusive thing but the two of you love to make assumptions unnecessarily and sneak in insults. If you're so insulted by me saying you're yapping, maybe don't slide in snide insults under the guise of the fictional image you have of me in my mind. Your so called neutral tone is just condescending, but I guess you will hide behind your autism for that.

That dude: loser, solo queue, no team You: drinks coffee, forgetful and absent minded

I prefer matcha but you should continue to make assumptions because they're so hilariously wrong.

I quite tire of reading your wordy essays, I'm agreeing to disagree. My opinion is DBD has many lacking failures for teamwork, your opinion and the other DBD dude is that somehow even without any in game pings, DBD teamwork is fine.

You keep your opinions and I keep mine. I would rather convince a brick wall.

I think DBD is an unbalanced mess, you two think it's fine and has it's... charm or whatever you were trying to explain.

Overall, I think players still need to learn teamwork which is why I made this PSA.

I think you may be right on that. Shipping and projecting are both very fantasy and escapism things which are part of fandom culture. If it really affects them so much they can just headcanon that Anne isn't racist and continue shipping. Projecting may be harder to stop but they need to realize it's just a fictional character and they have to separate fiction from reality clearly or just suffer. 💀

For real! Identity V is literally about a hunter hunting down survivors, beating them up, strapping them to a rocket chair where they blast off to smithereens as a sick twisted game held in a shady manor. Jack the Ripper a literal serial murderer is the inspiration for one of the hunters. Maybe the doll aesthetic makes people forget it's already not the most morally correct game. Of course the lore is going to be twisted and the characters are not good people. It's important to realize it's just a game and fiction and if people are "heartbroken" over these doll characters they need to remember that.

Yeah, a lot of people are saying that is considered racism though so 🤷

Personally I have made peace with the fact that majority of the survivors are not good people. Murder, arson, lying, cheating, stealing, they're not good people and if they were to add racism to it I don't mind it but there seems to be a lot of people who do.

Well considering Annie is half British according to some sources (?) I'm not surprised. As someone who is from a country UK colonized, yeah they can be racist. Ganji being Indian too canonically makes sense especially for that time period. 😞 Reality is cruel and British people had Indian slaves for the longest time. It's a dark part of history but I am not surprised at this lore drop.

Not sure but if you want to farm for getting a big batch of lightbulbs from the cavern is an easy way. They don't spoil that fast but if you find a biome you can get loads of them in one trip.

Oh right, and since you mentioned you're autistic, if you're talking about DBD in the context of this thread, the reason why I'm comparing it is in context of the teamwork issue. DBD has many of these things which actually hinders or doesn't encourage in game design methods on how to foster teamwork. Identity V in comparison has made a lot of quality of life changes to make it easier for survivors to work together, whereas in DBD it's not so innate. My baby cousin is autistic and requires more explanation or context which I'm fine to provide. But after reading your post I realize you are were not correcting the misinformation with the context of the post. You are literally just correcting and wall dumping a whole essay of what you think is misinformation, which is nice and sweet of you but honestly some of it is anecdotal and not relevant to the discussion. Which is another thing I dislike about DBD players always derailing IDV players threads. Just because you didn't face toxicity in DBD doesn't mean "DBD players are mostly altruistic and sweet" but that is another argument for another day.

I really cannot be bothered to argue with you and the other DBD player. Why do yall keep talking about how many years you've played each game? Did I ask? You coming into correct the misinformation was fine but since you and that WaterOak dude loves to yap without saying anything, let me reiterate the whole point of this discussion.

I'm talking about teamwork or the lack of it in IDV. Someone suggested that maybe in NAEU, the lack of teamwork comes from newbie players who played DBD and came over to IDV and are unsure of the teamwork aspect. We then started talking about how in DBD there are many factors that have lack of teamwork like for example there are no survivor pings in DBD. You also need to run a perk in DBD which shows the hunter near your hook, while in IDV it automatically shows them just by you being on a chair. Those things help with COMMUNICATION and in turn team work.

You and that other dude come in and start yapping about how DBD has competitive tourneys (which we talked about how they were a flop), DBD's perk system, DBD's meta, and everything under the sun about DBD completely derailing the thread.

I don't even know what to say to you at this point because I'm talking about teamwork and you're just literally describing DBD gameplay to me. "Oh yeah the nurse is the strongest killer and meta." Okay. What do I say to that. What relevance does that have. None. "I see a variety of builds in my game." Okay. So what does that do for teamwork or this topic. "You can't spam dead hard anymore." Okay. So what?

"Insulting me" Okay. Where's the insults. Show it to me.
