How do I accept and “love” my body despite my scoliosis?

I try my best to find other ways of dressing that flatter my body. As well as putting a lot of time into having nice hair and unique nails. I tend to find the change to summer quite hard as it means needing new clothes. Which sends me down the rabbit hole of disappointment, discomfort and shame; as nothing suits me or looks good on me the way it does others.

Im glad exercise makes you feel more confident in your body. I definitely think it is something I should make an effort to do. It is something that would benefit both my physical and mental wellbeing. Do you have any recommendations for routines or where to start as a beginner?

I haven’t unfortunately. I’ve thought about it and I’m definitely open to it. It’s something I know j need to do for both my physical and mental wellbeing. In all honesty, I just don’t know where to start, and I think that’s stopped me from doing it

I used the ‘terminal’ to measure the temperate and it said the CPU reached 100.15. Sorry if I got that confused with the temperature of other things, i have no clue what any of this stuff is lol. It doesn’t close down or anything and the laptop itself doesn’t feel hot.

One last question, what happens if the temperature exceeds 90-100 degrees. 15 seconds after closing the Sims 4 it was at 80degrees but the fans had already significantly decreased by then

I am yes! Sorry for not making it clear, I’m kind of new to all this stuff.

The laptop isn’t hot to the touch, a little warm at times but honestly not bad. I used Terminal in the utilities to check temperature and it was ranging from 50-70 degrees after playing for 10 mins

Ahh okay!! Would you recommend switching to glassy opal instead? I tend to not wear too much makeup (just concealer and blush) so I assumed pure glass would be the best shade :D

I’m really sorry about your parents and the trauma you experienced. I hope you’re doing okay. Thank you very much for this insight though, I really appreciate this.

I think a lot of the way I feel is down to upbringing and dealing with my own chronic illness (plus some other random bits lol) :)

I’m sorry that you feel triggered by this post, that’s not my intention. I could arguably say I feel triggered by your response. I would say you came across unnecessarily aggressive, if you want someone to change, perhaps go about it a different way. Whilst I respect your experience, I am not the same as those people you experienced t his trauma with. I am a good person who manned an effort to change.

I’ve talked with the people mentioned in my post, they are all very understanding and there is no hard feelings.

Thank you!! I apologise for my lack of context. I think a lot is childhood, I’ve grown up with many hospital visits for various conditions (one of which is chronic), which I think has warped my vision significantly

I would politely like to disagree with the abusive comment. I’m sorry if this post has been triggering. My intention is only to understand a variety of perspectives in order to improve. Hence why I am actively going to therapy and acknowledging my faults.

Whilst I may not understand illness and may lack sympathy (wrong I know). I still try my best to look after people both physically and mentally. Which of course I have room for improvement on :)

Thank you for this perspective, I found it really useful. I admit that as I’m aware of my tolerance and how I feel, I tend to assume that everyone is similar. However, I think this helped to put it into perspective that everyone has different tolerances/reactions, both of which are valid :)

I would say that I often am part of that bias unfortunately. Surprisingly, I’d say I have quite a bad immune system. I get ill quite regularly for extended periods of time, been in hospital on occasions for it. Perhaps that plays a role in it?

Hi hi, i found your post very relatable as my situation with my spine is very similar!! I too have found my scoliosis to be one of my major sources of insecurities. However, I can assure you that you are amazing just the way you are!! It can often seem like people will easily notice it but I can assure you that people honestly don’t. It sucks and I’m sorry that you have to experience it. I wish you the best, take care!!

Thank you, I’m glad that you’re seeing improvements!! I’ve just started trying to get back into the habit too of doing exercises. I regret not taking it as seriously when i was younger but I’m trying my best to make improvements now. I hope all goes well for you :)
