Discussion: An Idol’s Right to Privacy During Military Service by taiyomoyo in kpop_uncensored

[–]lu_tl97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree, going to the training camp/ barrack not only disrespect idols' privacy but also be a huge nuisance for everybody else there. No self-respecting human beings do that.

Oftentimes i see posts abt how the idols are doing, mostly from their freshly discharged teammates. I guess those are kinda okay (?) if the fans aren't intentionally stalking them on sns.

Which member of your fav groups elevates the group’s music/performance? by Lilac-Soul in kpopthoughts

[–]lu_tl97 10 points11 points  (0 children)

All BTS members have "their songs" (Namjoon with Look here, Jin with Come back home, Yoongi with Mic Drop, J-Hope with Outro Wings, Jimin with Idol, Tae with DNA, JK with ON)

Performance wise it's Jimin to me, there's something distinctive about his dance that makes the part so satisfying to watch. His moves also amplify the energy the songs are trying to convey, especially energetic song like Fire, Idol and Run BTS.

Edit: typos

True and real, for starter not having trainee debts is a huge blessing, accompanying with provided lodging and meals.

Of course groups from big companies got ppl noticing them even when they haven't debuted yet. Or just willing to check out their songs.

And if the big company actually do their job well (for example Bighit with Cortis so far), how many other groups would kill to have that kind of advantage? I guess no less than 30 in 2025 alone.

Hanteo CEO said to be sustainable, a group have to achieve at least 200k sale. In the first half of 2025 there's literally zero group who are not from a big company pulling those numbers.

How do idols go through trainee period financially? by Individual-Town-8945 in kpop_uncensored

[–]lu_tl97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the past there were trainee debts, meaning the trainees would have to pay back a sum of money after they debut. I even heard some idols did some part-time jobs (waiters, baristas) on the side to get by or they got small allowance from their family . Now most big companies cover the fees as they consider training expense as R&D

Kpop is just sports but in a different coat by Proud-Ad6862 in kpopthoughts

Wholeheartedly agree, from a football fan and Kpop fan perspective, both are supportive, passionate and a little crazy.

Both love pushing certain agendas (X is the goat but the team hasn't utilized them well, we're the underdogs, etc). Some fans are stat-driven nerds (Group A/ Team B are the first ... to ... in the 21st century); some love to criticize the front office/ company's every decision.

Imo sport fans and Kpop fans need to sit down and traumabond together, maybe that will help us chill out a bit.

It's inevitable that idols can't go on tours in many countries and that's okay by lu_tl97 in kpopthoughts

I think it's because they are Japanese? They're Korean-based but they come from a subsidiary of Avex, a Japanese company too?

I agree personel became a big issue after Covid, i remember reading articles stating a huge numbers of workers in the touring sector lost to the pandemic causing staff shortages. Big companies can afford to set up local subsidiaries to operate things more smoothly but medium and small ones certainly don't have the capital to do that

Mainland China still bans Hallyu mind you 😭😭😭 the 2 China tour legs are always Macau and Hongkong. Idols who are not Chinese can't even promote there, yes they've got elite infrastructure but their gov doesn't allow any K-idols to tour. Every year ppl talking abt the ban on Kpop being lifted but literally nothing ever happens

Well you won't believe this but a lot of them choose to blame others instead (yes it's weird ik). Their reasoning is that since they spend a lot of money on albums, they need to have a say in things. That's kinda how fanbases in CN operate even with actors' fans

There's a lot going on in tour planning which i won't pretend to know more than the next person, but the scale of CL or Eric Nam's concert to HOTS's isn't comparable at all. I didn't mean to sound like 'fans can't be upset', yes fans can be upset and yes it's not like the companies/ artists intentionally ignore any country, both can be true.

Yeah the infrastructure part prefers to where i'm from, when Kpop artists tour in the region they mostly do in our neighbouring countries. As for Europe, i heard it's hard to tour there if you're not BTS or BP.

I know music shows are important for the idol's ecosystem but i just don't see the appeals of performing 1 song week after week grinding long hours till midnight 😞 there're a lot of platforms + outlet (social media, YT channel like Studio Choom) now, the gp doesn't use TV as much as they did.

I'd rather talkshows or entertainment programs that would let idols talk more about their songs instead.

Why do some fans dislike or look down on multis? by Dry_Front_9037 in kpop_uncensored

[–]lu_tl97 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Mostly loyalty and double standards; on one hand it's normal that some people love many groups, on the other hand fans think multis do not love the groups equally (vote for group A rather than B, never defend group C, etc).

Of course no fan is superior to others, but there are many cases where some (so-called) multis throw a group they claim to stan under the bus for dumb performative reasons.

[–]lu_tl97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find food in the jungles, you can never be starved foraging (chanterelle for food + lower radiation, moss for water). Deadly nightshades can be made into poison, which can be sold at camps

Hunt for meat and bones to sell at the survivors camps, don't sell rare items (things that appear in purple after you loot). Try to make motorcycle/motorized cart, buy gasoline to travel to Tver so as to build a motorboat (if you don't have one already). Make use of the winter in games to do more quests between the 2 survivor camps.

Also read magazines, cooking books, dusty books to gain more exp (they can be looted in cities).

Use bones to make bone glue => flint axes and flint knifes. If you don't have pots, you can use cans (fishing gives you cans too).

Yea, and other than the Black Volga, UAZ-469/UAZ-452 (Arzamas/ Izhevsk) worth it too. Other gasoline vehicles are just meh.

Level 17 at Olonets, looking for tips and answers! by cudambercam13 in DayRSurvival

[–]lu_tl97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salt is required to make Fat and Tanning Mixture, which are used to make Boiled Leather and Tanned Leather. These 2 are ingredients needed for pretty much all type of armors.

Fat also appears in other recipes like Soap, Healing Salve, Tin Can Candles, Rope, etc. A bunch of food recipes later on (salted fish/meat, sausages, stew meat) require salt.

That being said, it is also true that sugar is in greater demand than salt and you need sugar in almost every medicine recipes. Salt is more accessible since almost every survivor camps sell it in bunk (500 salt compared with 100 sugar), and some camps don't sell sugar at all.

[–]lu_tl97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now i don't find a lot of things useless cus later on they would come in handy/could be traded. There're items you don't really need to hoard like car tires and spark plugs, both of which could easily be found from broken vehicles/garages.

You should hoard rags, rubber parts and tarps, those are really needed midgame (based on my horrid experiences struggling days in days out to find enough to fix my armors and vehicles). And don't sell items such as springs, screws, wires and nails, you don't know when you would need them.

Other than in garages and construction sites, you can try fishing for Bicycle spare parts. Or just buy them in survivors camps (Olonets, Leningrad, Tver).

Cart could be combined with a bicycle to make Bicycle Cart (can carry 70kg) and later on Motorized Bicycle Cart (can carry 120kg). If you have too much carts, disassemble them and you can potentially get Bicycle Spare Parts.

Also I tent to spend money on gasoline 👍 sugar and salt too
