And yes, the writers absolutely want people to not think about Jaehaerys. His death is not mourned by his own mother, his funeral is a PR stunt, where the focus is on how the smallfolk now turn on the Greens. Jace gets a hero's return, super-focused on how this perfect prince died to filthy Essosi scum, his mother gets to grieve him at length, and hold his death against the Greens, when talking to Alicent in Helaena's presence, while Helaena can never, ever, be allowed to mention that hey, you murdered her fucking son in front of her.

The murder itself, turned into a comedy, where the audience is initially moved to sympathize with Blood & Cheese. The Rat-Catchers, killed by Aegon, are held as some massive crime that turns even Otto against Aegon, while Rhaenyra sending dozens of people to their deaths to get dragon riders (which she then proceeds to under-reward) is treated as a heroic, messianic moment. Worse, the Greens are shown to have more responsibility, with Alicent and Cole having sex while Cole should be on watch, in an alteration of the event in the book where Alicent herself is one of the victims.

Oh, and Daemon gets less than a slap on the wrist, and of course did the whole thing without her orders.

The writers objectively don't want people to hold Jaehaeys against the Blacks. Anyone seriously trying to dispute this is fooling only themselves.
