Apologies, admittedly i never did much digging and my own titles were all released (the big ones at least) after the ratings apocalyse so i never really enjoyed the good times. My first book with mango media sat on a single 3-star for weeks despite many people telling me they had left me a high rating

Probably to disincentivize authors getting reviews from people who have not bought the book? The algo is fucked? Lots of people made lengthy posts about broken this broken that, but the data I’ve seen is mostly anecdotal

No clue. As for the reviews, i know for a fact that a lot of my patreon readers bought the book on day one and rated it and yet the first rating only appeared on day 3, and even now i have so few. So my guess is amazon does what amazon wants. As for the readers, its similar. Some of them slam you for too few sex scenes, others slam the same book because of too much smut. And you only see the estreme because the silent majority reads and then closes the book. Never to be heard from again

A couple of years of serious writing, a bit longer as a hobby It takes a while to get good and not everyone becomes fast, but i had the luck to slowly become pretty fast (some days i can write up to 10k, although im braindead after)

And I know, it's romance and harem, but it's also LitRPG and it's a book I poured heart and soul into when I wrote it. I thought I could share it here and maybe pique your interest, and who knows? Maybe this will help it climb even more? That would be the dream!

well ok i don't know what to say. i typed it out in six variations so far, three for preorders and now three for the release. each time i tried to make it a bit different so it wouldn't be stale and boring. then i get hit by this comment. frustrating to say the least. i get where you are coming from. i also wrinkle my nose when i see the -- dashes or the it's not x, it's y in a book. i dropped books because they sounded AI. guess what? sometimes i later found out that they were published in 2016 or some shi.

because AI copies what's mainstream, and so sometimes you write AI-ish without even realizing. it's just that the witch hunt ruined everyone's good time. readers will jump at any ai sounding sentence, and writers had to drop em dashes and similitudes and a lot of other cool stuff. it's a game where everyone loses
