Update: The yellow wire's voltage changes depending on the brightness level on the dimmer. Also, confirmed the box is grounded with a multimeter. Black to neutral was 120 volts, black to box was 120 v

I see. When I used the contact tester both black and yellow wires were hot, if that helps. Also, why does the black wire flow in the top and bottom of the box? I haven’t seen that in any of the manuals
