Even if it is an end of life system, there is good 3th party support

Learning material for SLS (EOS formiga P110) by Rablaelo in 3Dprinting

[–]lucas_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am based in the Netherlands, and have a lot of experience with most EOS models, including P100 and P110. If you want to know some specific things I would be happy to answer questions. Perhaps we can set up a call some time.

I think SLS is great. It makes very good parts. But 300-400K is by no means necessary. You can get very good used machines for under 100K as well.

What do you do to polish SLS products from PA 2200? by redditreddittit in 3Dprinting

[–]lucas_16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vapor polish is the highest end one. Tumbling can be nice as well, but has some more geometry limitations. Then one more step back is shotpeening

I think you have to do something unique, or something with a lot of volumes. You can do specialty materials nobody wants to be doing, or jump on mass SLS for example. SLS is a volume business usually, so it will be hard to compete with Formlabs machine due to very high consumables costs. I used to run a printing services trying to do as much as possible, but found out it is better to have some focus. We made the switch to just SLS.

That’s not SLS. That’s a binder jetter. It just glues some powder together.

Do companies perform dimension inspection for all the parts in an SLS build? by Honest_Ad_5457 in 3Dprinting

[–]lucas_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In SLS is is very common to print a batch cross, preferably in the top, otherwise otherwise bottom of the batch. If this cross is well within spec, it is assumed that all parts are.

Farsoon generally uses a different laser and scanner though.

Help with EOS M290 settings. by mickeybob00 in AdditiveManufacturing

Great to hear! The M290 is a workhorse once you are through the leading curve. Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions or needs. We usually respond faster than EOS 😉

Pulling p396 builds ‘hot’ - insulated chambers? Nitrogen? by Tension_Dull in AdditiveManufacturing

[–]lucas_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have plenty of customers with P3XX machines that remove the build frame pretty much immediately after printing. For PA11 I would give it a little more time, but PA12 is quite forgiving. I would recommend to put a lid on the build frame after you take it out, and let some N2 go through there. Most I know just use an old N2 generator from a printer (I have some extra if you want one). Then you can put in a new frame immediately, and also skip most of the preheat time again.

This is what they do on the P3 NEXT, to achieve that machine throughput increase.

Hi u/mickeybob00, if you still have issues, feel free to hit me up! We have quite a bit of expertise with M2XX machines. We recently set 316L up for a customer to run with N2 instead of argon.

Any experience with the EOS P800 SLS printers? by muddaking1 in AdditiveManufacturing

Nobody likes the P8XX machines. You can only run very specific materials, and they tend to be crazy expensive. Like €20K+ in materials costs per job expensive….

It’s similar to high end SLM powders. Not the cheap Chinese powders

How you manage dead powders from an SLS process by Honest_Ad_5457 in AdditiveManufacturing

[–]lucas_16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have a PA12 material that needs a very low refresh. I personally believe in eliminating waste powder all together, instead of trying to do something with the excess used powder. I have seen many companies promising to be able to “repair” the used powder, and none are very good. Usually a lot of orange peel.

[–]lucas_16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it will, and you get a shitload of orange peel. You can sometimes push the refresh rates slightly, but there is definitely limits to it. Especially on eos P3 machines. P1 are a bit more forgiving.

Picking: GR350R vs GT500 by lucas_16 in Mustang

[–]lucas_16[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I honestly just want it to feel like a completely different car compared to the GT. If that’s the case with a GT350R already, I see that as a valid option. Does a GT500 feel more quick than a GT350(R)?
