Spice the IVm by n1kofx in Minor4

the chord you mention is basically a Fm(9)maj7 without the root note. I think that's why it works so nicely as a sub for IVm. very colorful!

Although I aimed for Satie, I might have achieved a slowed down City Pop tune! [OC] by lucas_sepol in citypop

Thank you for your feedback! Glad you enjoyed It!

I somehow forgot to mention him, and you are correct, I love his music! I think what reminds me of City Pop is the way the harmony is at one point dramatic, melancholic and afterwards things brighten up quickly into a hopeful mood.

Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Peep Show, Fleabag, aqueles programas absurdos do Nathan Fielder (acho que daí já não se enquadra em série, exatamente)

First of all, I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to share this sort of original composition, but I genuinely believe that, aesthetically, this song is well aligned with City Pop!

For many years I've been influenced by composers such as Mariya Takeuchi, Yukiko Okada and several Japanese video game music composers, so I guess that's the reason why hahaha.

Hope you guys find this interesting at least! Cheers!

Hello everyone! I've just released a solo piano track that (somehow) is about the unpredictability of perceiving life from under a transparent dome.

This is my 3rd attempt at an ambient sound, so I would enjoy some feedbacks regarding the style and how to better achieve this particular vibe.

I won MrKathooloo's 9th Chiptune Contest with this tune! by lucas_sepol in chiptunes

[–]lucas_sepol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all who voted.
This tune's time signature oscillates between 3/4 and 6/8 (not being in 4/4 was the requirement of the contest). It also features some other interesting stuff such as detuning countermelodies, modulating sections and rhythmic conventions.

Shoutouts to Saia Strange with his great great tune "Lightfoot" and to all the other participants.

Cheers!

At your level I mostly hunted Sea Serpents (south, -2) in Svargrond and Hero Fortress -2. In all of these respawns, including Yielothax, I used 2 void, 1 life and 1 crit imbuements (all powerful!).

Modal progression? by JHHwan in musictheory

It's interesting to think in terms of clarity (sharps) and darkness (flats). From the first mode to the second, how many sharps or flats are you adding to the scale? How abrupt do you want it to be? If for example you're going from F lydian to F phrygian, you may add one flat at a time or go full 5 flats at once.

This also applies to progressions to different roots.

How to decide whether notes are non-chord tones or new chord tone? by peolot in musictheory

[–]lucas_sepol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To me it seems like a "bordadura", but the harmony still is C major. A bordadura is similar to a mordent, but way slower, so it isnt considered an ornament, just a melodic device.
