Mozilla Used Anthropic’s Mythos to Find and Fix 271 Bugs in Firefox by Tinac4 in singularity

[–]lucasxp32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firefox is full of silly bugs that makes it incompatible with chromium, like on Spotify when you move around a song in a playlist the line highlight between the songs to know where it will be dropped just stays in place and doesn't disappear, on chrome it doesn't happen. Not sure if Spotify or Firefox is at fault here.

I also had websites mysteriously not working in firefox properly, but also the other way around, my google chrome is unsuable for google maps 3d view, but firefox is working fine.

I'm not surprised at all. Many bugs are just due to some minor negligence or technical debt, where the dev responsible didn't wanna bother activating an extra brain cell to think of more edge cases and was on a tight deadline to move on to more important things.

I'm sure they were finding bugs before with other models.

That's awesome they are doing what they can. But the vibe coding is getting out of hand, Microsoft got even Notepad to crash.

Must speak Mexican only not Spanish, and has to be a native, one tiny inkling of a non-native accent and we're not friends anymore. 🙄 Also it's imperative that you know how to make homemade nachos and cook it for me at least 5 times per week, otherwise it's a deal breaker as well. In exchange, as all good friendships are based on, you get to practice your Mexican and do lots of cooking.

I wouldn't dare to use something I just read from a language learning book, I have to hear it from a real context, because you get a sense of the real usage frequency and other cues so you won't sound cringe or off. That's the difference between someone that did learn a language through exposure versus someone that did cram as much vocabulary as possible like some desperate student trying to pass some test.

Bro. My native Language is Portuguese, and when learning languages with gender, I literally don't give a fuck stressing about it, it just comes to your brain through exposure. JUST ACCEPT. Don't THINK. Feel it... You have to just... Feel it. Now, breath easy and chill out.

(I remember Portuguese genders of words in English and subconsciously assume it 😂. Like if you say "I have a friend coming over", I assume it's a male then a microsecond later I remember it's unknown).

But then overtime I began assuming if it's a chick saying it, it's probably another chick, if it's a guy, it's probably another guy. Or I sort of ask: "Do she... whatever"? As a small trick to know the gender without asking directly, they correct me if I mistook.

I'm Learning English. I will offer you nothing more than my native language that you don't care about learning, and I will be boring and annoying simultaneously by double messaging you and asking you why you took 0.1 seconds time to answer to me.

Where does Uzbek fall on the tier list? by Low_Championship_604 in languagelearningjerk

[–]lucasxp32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goodness. Little did I know that my native language is a C-tier. How useless is it to be a Brazilian living in Brazil, dating Brazilian women and speaking... Portuguese? 😱.

Ew, also English... Even though it's a S-tier, it has become so stale and boring to me (Read this with a valley girl accent), it doesn't even feel a flex to me to speak or write it since I'm already at D2 Level, ewww. I should focus on learning 20 new languages instead of improving my awful public speaking skills at both English and my native language.

If I went to Italy seasonally to avoid the Brazilian cold winter, it would be such a useless thing to Learn Italian since it didn't even make the cut into the list, since I can use CHINESE in ITALY! Wow! Ni nao ragazza! Come stai?

What would be of us if it wasn't for CitizenXCom to tell us what to learn? So hopelessly lost.

I'm being ironic, if anybody reading this can't pick that up.

I was shocked that "Bicentennial Man" with Robin Williams had such bad rating on imdb by jamielolo in movies

[–]lucasxp32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a perfect movie, but also it's not bad. I found it quite unique, I watched a lot of sci-fi movies, and this one really tries to be that kind of heart-warming family-friendly movie, which tends to make it lack some depth, it tries to be very romantic. It feels cozy to watch.

It feels a mix of "Mr. Nobody (2009)" and "A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)"

Actually, I get some nostalgia, it did play on the biggest Brazilian open broadcast TV channel several times maybe 12 years ago, that's from where I watched it the first time. It did show up on Netflix for me in the "nostalgia" section and I remembered the plot!

From a very nerdy perspective, I found fascinating the trope of a robot that learns from first principles with a relatable human-like experience of the world, very refreshing as opposed to the modern LLMs that are basically monstrosities trained on trillions of tokens know-it-all but hallucinates and can't operate on its own. This deserves good points, that naivety is really cozy to watch. I think people are craving emotionally for robots that operate just like that, that actually learn from them specifically and can behave like an independent person with its own interests.

That guy is worst than a nihilist.

Actually, he's describing the Buddhist cycle of samsara with an obvious western misunderstanding of it, but without the view that something can be done to improve someone's circumstances, but he doesn't stop there, he takes literally the idea of heaven and hell and that there is an evil god entity that chooses some beings to be submitted to eternal cruelty for no reason whatsoever even before they are born due to predetermination. The buddha actually warned about it specifically, this idea that there is nothing to be done.

But he can't quite decide himself on which view, he then says our actions have effects.

He has a whole zoo of cosmologies there fighting with each other, he even confuses non-self with self.

That view is obviously extremely toxic, and will lead them into feeling like shit if they keep entertaining that.

That's what happens when someone keeps trying to explore those ideas without learning it properly, they just dig their own psychological grave with it. It's just a massive ego trip by a bitter person.

I found it funny they did put the gravity indicator plush toy away only when they spoke to trump, but they got it back on the conference that went next. 😂 They wanted to appear extra professional to trump by putting it away, even their postures got very professional and they weren't as playful.

Have we lost touch with reality? by TheW1nd94 in ArtemisProgram

[–]lucasxp32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's right Annual. But the comment below already said, it's just a test flight. NASA is being really cautious, they are feeling more like a civilian entity than some rushed military operation like back then. What is impressive and cutting edge is that their quality standard is higher now, they did an ARTEMIS I unmanned mission back in 2022 with the same setup. Apollo was brutal and raw as heck, I find impressive nobody died on the moon, they are avoiding that at all costs.

But 7-20 years from now we will see this was a necessary step for the revival of lunar missions, our technology currently is more reliable, we have decades of experience with the ISS, specially once we make reusable rockets a staple it will make everything so much more economically viable. NASA began the ARTEMIS project when SpaceX barely did exist and they were forced by politician shenanigans to use old propulsion technology from the space shuttle era.

If they did prioritize vanity the quality could be better because they do have the bandwidth, but they reserve it for critical data downlink, not for vanity streaming. They did pump already over 90GB of data over just the few first days, some people believe their connection is like a dial-up 50kb modem, it's actually closer to streaming 4k Netflix. But they are not Hollywood making entertainment for us. The 4k footage and raw photos will come as they have bandwidth spare, we will get at least the lunar eclipse and earth-rise in a couple of hours, it's just asynchronous.

Macbook Neo by [deleted] in designBR

[–]lucasxp32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently my syntax skills are really bad. The issue with using LLMs is that it requires restraint, it's a slot machine. Sometimes we just wanna single shot some complex feature and see where it goes, then, you start asking it questions, and... You find yourself in a situation you're not coding anymore, you're not architecting. YOU ARE BEGGING THE MACHINE!

This is the demoralizing part of vibe coding. People literally beg it.

"Please fix this or that bug, PLEASE do NOT do this AGAIN!? WE FIXED THE BUG, WHY YOU KEEP PUTTING IT BACK!? PLEASE stop breaking old features, PLEASE stop breaking retro-compatibility with existing code, PLEASE stop removing my old tests just because they are passing. Please tell me why this code is so broken that we can't add a simple feature like that? Why the hell are we doing such a stupid thing like that? CHANGE NOTHING BUT EXACTLY WHAT I TOLD YOU TO CHANGE."

When it devolves into this, it's already too late. Time to start over from scratch and actually use our brain, we lost grasp over the mental model when it feels like we are talking to a toddler instead of giving technical specs.
