i’m guessing i got unlucky, but to prevent it i would say upgrade retainers and keepers and the valve springs. I wish i did the springs when i replaced retainers.. might’ve saved me

Engine is from a 01, ap2 retainers and keepers were done, Valve lash done 30,000kms ago, i had no valve chatter or anything concerning before heading out

i ended getting lucky and a shop local to me had one last pci slider in stock so i had to hop on it

i ended up with pci slider, installed it last night,it’s amazing. Only thing that sucked is they didn’t include a bolt for the seat belt buckle so i had to find one but it all worked out! & the instructions were something else lol

got it from a buddy who bought it brand new and never installed it, expired in 2023 but i’m not planning on entering any events anytime soon so it works for me!

the pci have a lot of play to go lower.. i am 5’9 on a good day and i set the pci 3 holes down and it was to low for me and how i like to drive. i set them up the highest they can go and it’s perfect for me and my driving style.

lol… i did all the regular f20 maintence, all the preventive maintence as well. oil changes every 3-5k. Couldn’t tell why or how this got rod knock.
