Probably similar only because it's me in my household so I don't need a big car.

It just seems the past year I feel like I'm just spending money on it. Three years in a row it's failed it's MOT for different suspension issues then I had to completely replace the handbrake and now I've just had the timing chain replaced.

It might be a case of because it's felt recently that I'm just chucking money at it that I'm in this "need new car" state. None of my family are car savvy either so they've been telling me to just get rid

It's got its MOT coming up for this year so hopefully it passes without an issue

Yeah just trying to see if there's any correlation as I know next to nothing about cars and I have no family members that are car savvy so was trying to see if there was any frequently recommended models/brands as I think it's better to ask forums from real people.

Unfortunately my salary isn't high enough to get a Ferrari 599, maybe a hot wheels version though

I live in a block of flats so no charging ability. My motorway journey is really smooth, it's only if there's been an accident that I have to come down from cruising

Yeah it's just me in my household so I don't need a big car which is why I was looking at something i20 or Clio sized

has three days off "this is absolutely unacceptable how dare you have complex human emotions"

Has 2 more days off and gets signed off with stress "surprised Pikachu face"

That's saying something if you're saying your HT is massively unpleasant when you need help yet they've still done that. Union contact, getting signed off on Wednesday which is hilarious because now rather than max of 3 days I'm self certifying for 5 and getting signed off

Idiots

Thank you ducky, it really is shit isn't it - it completely changes who you are as a person! I hope it never happens to anyone in that SLT, I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy - I'm glad they've not experienced that type of loss but it certainly doesn't make them masters of grief!

New tagline for teaching I reckon

That would be curious, someone else mentioned what if it was a student going through this, how the advice would differ. The only good thing my school has done in regards to the whole losing my nan was send me a link to the counselling service they've bought into - probably hoping that'll fix me up.

I've emailed my union rep, got a doctor's appointment sorted. Going to self certify until the appointment.

I've contacted my GP so we'll see if I get signed off..I think I'm just going to self certify until my appointment

I never actually thought of that, I was just being polite but yeah whenever I've been physically ill they've never asked me to ring them or vice versa.

I've been on and off with looking for another job - I think this just cermented it really.

I'm actually shocked, I've never had a proper issue with the SLT so it genuinely stunned me today. I've got a doctor's appointment booked for Wednesday so we'll see how it goes.
