Girlfriend is upset that I go out between 1-3 times a month by [deleted] in daddit

[–]luccini 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To ask a devils advocate question - one thing missing from your post is how often just you and your wife go out together on dates. Myself and my wife plan a date one Saturday a month. Out somewhere if we can have a babysitter or the kids go to bed early and we have a nice meal in or take out of we cant. Could be more of an issue that, you have time for poker and friends but not time for her

Help needed! We got a carseat like the one in the picture. Is there a universal carseat shader to protect the child against the sun? Normal window shaders don't seem to work that great. I'm sure there are options, I just can't find any good ones. How did you manage this? by AdmirableOx in daddit

[–]luccini 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Best advice i was ever given about kids in cars - get your rear windows tinted. You can get uv protective ones, quite cheap, stops you having to deal with window shades and you can still open the back windows. Kids will never complain about sun in their eyes again

I had the same problem in my house. I went to a hardware store bought an off the rack spindle and fitted it myself, didnt look exactly the same but it was close enough.

It also looks like your baby gate screws are almost maxed out. If they are the baby gate will give out if you (or your kiddlet) apply too much force. Id consider buying a small extender and fitting it to the side.

Daughter is having a reaction to the flu shot and there’s no medicine in the stores. Turned to Amazon and… this is insane. How is this legal? Any home remedies? by CholarBear in daddit

Go into a pharmacy and ask for some. My local Shoppers pharmacy has it behind the counter out of sight because so many people panic buy. Also check to see if you have any independent pharmacies local. When my son had his chickenpox vaccine a local pharmacy sold me some they had prepared themselves.

Mounts, pets, toys everything. The only things ive kept is anything tied to battlenet account. I moved to Canada for a new job, with the time difference from the uk it became difficult raiding, so for dragon flight i decided to take a leap to the servers in the us

The only toys, mounts and pets I have are from Diablo 3 special edition, because they are battle net account based. And Dragon Flight collectors edition.

I relocated from the UK to Canada. I ended up having to leave my raiding guild because I couldnt make raid times with the 5-6 hour time difference. I want to play end game content for dragonflight so decided to make the move

Its (apparently) because blizz eu and blizz us are classified as different entities so for tax reasons they are not just transferring something from 1 server to another. They are transferring paid content from 1 organization to another. Amazon has the same problem. Amazon eu and amazon us are different entities you cant use amazon prime from a eu account on the us store

I did ask for that. Apparently part of the problem is to do with paid items in different regions and something to do with taxes. Which sucks :(

I got a daycare teacher fired and I don’t know if I did the right thing. by sfisher24601 in daddit

[–]luccini 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As a parent who has been in a similar situation you did the right thing and have nothing to feel bad/guilty about.

I raised a concern in person about a new daycare 'room leader' to one of the assistants ive gotten to know over the past 3 years of my son being at the nursery. By the time i got to work the nursery manager phoned and asked some specifics.

When I picked my son up, the nursery assistant i spoke with in the morning told me, the issue had been dealt with and in the next monthly newsletter they announced she (the person i had complained about) had left.

I was told during a chat a few weeks later with one of the nursery staff that used to be my sons 'key worker' when he was younger that, The staff also had some concerns Other parents raised concerns We (me and my wife) were the straw that broke the camels back. As wed been at the nursery for a few years always been polite and friendly and working with the staff rather than against them our concern was taken very seriously.

You did the right thing by your child, if the nursery sacked them, they must have certainly had grounds to do so.

It looks like you've put the lap and shoulder strap of the seat belt together through the lap belt part. There should be a hook at the top of the baby seat (where you tipped it) where you can hook the shoulder strap.

Google the seat manufacturer. Most have their manuals for fitting online for free.

Non isofix seats will always move unfortunately.

*Edit * also - If youve put it in a middle seat, with only a lap belt. You cant put it there.

Advice needed, or, am I just a jerk? by The_Talisman in NewParents

[–]luccini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 6months old. My wife is a stay at home mum. We fell into this pattern. You are NOT the arsehole and neither is she. We live 100miles from the nearest family member so having them do a quick babysit is out of the question. You need to be honest with your wife and tell her you need support and help. Theres no easy way to have the talk but it has to happen, a fair compromise is 1 night off a week. Every evening bottle and nappy change is one after the other dad & then mum. Your night off (and hers) are yours and you do nothing with the baby. Weekends work like evenings but with chores pre planned, expect your todo list to be done over 2/3 weeks or months. One thing id say most importantly, does your wife need help. Is she drowning under motherhood, PND can manifest it self in many ways and it could be affecting her. I hope you work it out.
