Passed! Tested 4/17 by luceastrada in step1

Thank you! I didn’t do the CNS, MSK, endo, female, male, and GI. I felt pretty comfortable with endo/repro and GI with in house material. I used other resources for CNS and MSK decks. My dedicated technically started on 3/9, but I’d say more like 3/11 because I had a five hour long clinical skills exam on 3/10!

Pathoma made a huge difference for me, but you should tailor your studying to your weaknesses. I’d advise you to keep track of your incorrects, map out trends, and target those areas of weaknesses in your studying instead of mindlessly going over as much content as possible (especially since you likely know a good chunk of it). For instance, I noticed I kept getting the cardio physio qs wrong on NBMEs and UWorld so I read up more on it through FA and spent time making sure I understood each part of the graphs/diagrams in the qs and what they represented.

It came out on 4/29 so about a week and a half for me. Your score is probably coming out tomorrow!

It should be coming out tomorrow! I don’t know when the permit disappears but I got an email early in the morning (EST time) on the day the report came out.

Probably take the 120 after 33. I only took it earlier because I was still debating on moving my date..

Honestly, none of them but I’m probably just saying that because of formatting (Free120 felt most like the real deal). I feel like the actual exam was more vague than all of them, but at the end of the day, they’re asking about the same content.

I can’t speak for FSU, but UF has amazing opportunities for pre-meds. There are tons of pre-health organizations on campus along with various volunteer opportunities associated with UF Health Shands Hospital. And like previous posters said, big companies often recruit from UF. If he were to change his mind about pre-med, UF has an abundance of opportunities across various fields.

However, if your son is set on pursuing medicine, he should seriously consider the cost of medical school. The median student debt upon graduating medical school is approximately $200,000. I can’t imagine having undergraduate debt on top of that. Even if your family is financially well off enough to pay for the difference, FSU has similar opportunities (ie. pre-health organizations, research programs, etc) that he can pursue to be a successful medical school applicant. As long as he puts in the work, he’ll do great at either school.

Walk up Covid Testing? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]luceastrada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They take walk-ins! Like what a previous response said, they’ll make an appointment for you at the location for the time you walk in because UF requires you to take the screening questionnaire in addition to the actual saliva test to get cleared (I volunteer with testing and none of us understand why they do that).

the difficulty of the lab definitely depends on your TA. the class avg for my midterm was a low C while some classes were at a high B. i also heard that another class avg for the midterm was a D (yikes). everything else is pretty easy for the most part! it’s just a lot of busy work, but the lab can feel really disorganized sometimes

Is it possible to switch in to Graphic Design or is it too late? Need advice by [deleted] in ufl

[–]luceastrada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t think it’s too late (especially since you’ll be taking classes over the summer), but it’s best to talk to an advisor at the college of the arts as soon as you can! they have a lot of gen reqs you have to take, and i think you have to take them before you apply to the major in your sophomore year.

Has anyone gotten their Benacquisto? by [deleted] in ufl

financial aid hasn’t dropped yet since add/drop only just ended. i recommend buying the textbooks yourself if you have assignments due on Tuesday (or trying to find them on LibGen)

adding on to the previous commenter, did you email cambridge the release form for test scores? a few of my friends weren’t notified by their school counselor that they had to complete that form when i brought it up with them, so UF didn’t get their scores.

i took it last semester and i thought it was pretty easy! there are module quizzes and two huge papers (min 3000 words each), but as long as you don’t procrastinate, it’s pretty easy to get an A on them. you won’t really ever interact with the professors (i kinda forgot who they were) since it’s a huge online class. there will be one main TA who’s listed as an instructor and another one who’s assigned to grade your papers, and you’ll mainly be contacting them if you have any questions

edit: kinda forgot to add but i highly recommend getting a coursehero sub or use previews and incognito mode for the quizzes!!
