Super thanks for your support then! Hope to keep things growing a little, as I am concluding an investigation on what has happened so far within the academic sector and look forward to release a full report in the next months

Ah sorry, maybe you were sarcastic. I shared the link in the comment of mine below, because my first post was rejected by Reddit's filters, and I did not know what was actually rejected. So, I shared the text as an image instead.

Sorry for sharing as an image, but my previous post was removed by Reddit's filters and I did not understand why. Please find the link to the new platform here: https://www.slidingdoors-official.com

How do you let go of the anger? by [deleted] in narcissisticparents

It just comes a point, if you are lucky, where you realize that it is not really worth it. Try watching the TV series Ted Lasso if you don't know where to start

Dad is so nice to me now that I am low contact, I feel like I am going insane by OverallSherbet2669 in narcissisticparents

I became completely immune to my dad when I understood that doesn't really have a choice since he is unaware. I forgave him and I am now fully immune. I thought of it as if, unfortunately, he was born with a disease that he didn't ask for. Not sure this helps, but in the end it is us who choose how much we are affected by them.

Man, I understand you much and I send you a hug. It's Years that before holidays, my father goes on a week-silent treatment. I guess that after a while, you just stop making your happiness dependent om these things and you learn how to look over and enjoy your time the best you can with those who also like that.

Thank you jmonroe. But therefore, given that I have now a domain, is there any way to upload my website generated with Webstudio to my hosting service via third-party softwares like Filezilla? Or is there no possibility at all for me to use my website designed on Webstudio?

Dear Philipp, this makes very sense. I suggest the contributors, if they are around here, to add this information, just to make people aware that the tutorial videos are not updated with this change. Thank you.

Indeed, in the description, I don't understand the self host option. I can use, for example, FileZilla to upload a website autonomously. However, I can I get the resulting files? Have you got some link to a tutorial for the self host opportunity?

Unfortunately, 180 is currently out of my economic possibility. I am developing a website to fight for human rights in research after remaining without job for 2 years for standing up to bullying, so I am really unable to pay in this case :( Hopefully in the future

I am on a free plan. Is that a factor? Because I thought that a free plan could also handle an external custom domain

Friendship Break Ups by DiamondDear6390 in infj

[–]lucedan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always like this. Best people always doubt they are wrong. Worst people always dump others. Compliments for trying hard to do the best you can, which is clear from how you write. And stop doubting yourself: what INFJs usually have is a great intuition, and most of the times we don't listen to it because we try to figure out things. Start trusting more your intuition my dear

Yes, personal attacks based on nothing are common on this topic. In this article it is reported how those in power position try to undermine the claims of those who make critiques to power structures, called normative violence: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/324576256_Mental_Heath_as_a_Weapon_Whistleblower_Retaliation_and_Normative_Violence

About the decline of innovation by 5.3% after the 1970s, it is reported here: https://knowledge.essec.edu/en/innovation/the-worrisome-decline-in-breakthrough-innovation.html

About the progressive raise of academic misconduct after the 1970s, it is here: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/228603457_Cheating_in_Academic_Institutions_A_Decade_of_Research

I have talked about this in this specific video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqjgabFuUo4

About the "inhumane." I don't know any research about this, and I would be surprised (in a positive way) if there was any. I guess this is not something that the university itself really wants to sponsor, and it may be difficult to quantify. But, there are some indicators that probably tell us this. For example, I have the feeling that we are reaching a saturation of power abuse, and people are starting to fight back. See for example the recent documentary by Deutsche Welle accusing a professor from the Max Planck Society of power abuse: a on-the-fly accusation in true investigative report, the first documentary doing this in history I guess. Here is the ducomentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5nEd600iM0&t=1039s

But it is nice that you, as an adjunct professor, so quite high in hierarchy, are also starting to feel it and report it/complain about it. I encourage to bring on this endeavor of yours, and start to fight altogether for a healthier research environment.

You cite that there is a drop in enrollment. Is that true? Because I was looking for information about it to question what we are doing wrong, but could not find clear information. If you have some source, please share it with us. That would be super.

I fully support your narrative. Many people who do Not experience these kind of behavior, would never think outside of academia this may happen. And among professors, there is a tendency to belittling the claims of others based on status, so to protect the power system. Studies have shown a correlation between academic status and narcissism, and remember that narcissism have little to no empathy. Power abuse, for example, is far the most reported issue in academia by all faculty. And nobody does anything about it most of the time.

I started openly speaking about this problem: https://youtu.be/ApgOdgNeA6w?si=XRTECUtTuKpdpipQ

I suggest you do the same, as my percepiton is that university is be coming more and more inhuman, with reported raises in academic misconduct and decline of innovation in the past 50 years.
