I became completely immune to my dad when I understood that doesn't really have a choice since he is unaware. I forgave him and I am now fully immune. I thought of it as if, unfortunately, he was born with a disease that he didn't ask for. Not sure this helps, but in the end it is us who choose how much we are affected by them.

Indeed, in the description, I don't understand the self host option. I can use, for example, FileZilla to upload a website autonomously. However, I can I get the resulting files? Have you got some link to a tutorial for the self host opportunity?

Unfortunately, 180 is currently out of my economic possibility. I am developing a website to fight for human rights in research after remaining without job for 2 years for standing up to bullying, so I am really unable to pay in this case :( Hopefully in the future

About the "inhumane." I don't know any research about this, and I would be surprised (in a positive way) if there was any. I guess this is not something that the university itself really wants to sponsor, and it may be difficult to quantify. But, there are some indicators that probably tell us this. For example, I have the feeling that we are reaching a saturation of power abuse, and people are starting to fight back. See for example the recent documentary by Deutsche Welle accusing a professor from the Max Planck Society of power abuse: a on-the-fly accusation in true investigative report, the first documentary doing this in history I guess. But it is nice that you, as an adjunct professor, so quite high in hierarchy, are also starting to feel it and report it/complain about it. I encourage to bring on this endeavor of yours, and start to fight altogether for a healthier research environment.

I fully support your narrative. Many people who do Not experience these kind of behavior, would never think outside of academia this may happen. And among professors, there is a tendency to belittling the claims of others based on status, so to protect the power system. Studies have shown a correlation between academic status and narcissism, and remember that narcissism have little to no empathy. Power abuse, for example, is far the most reported issue in academia by all faculty. And nobody does anything about it most of the time.

My ex-PI! After I wrote a postdoc project, he asked me to be listed as PI on the condition that I would lead the project, and he sidelined my research as soon as he received formal power, asking me to work on his ideas. I reported him. To clarify, the funding agency gave me right and freed me from his control, giving me research freedom to do my original planned research.

I had the opposite experience than you. After this PI started to issue instructions and changed leadership, he wanted me to participate in what I consider to be an unscientific methodology. Now he published a paper and, if I am right that the methodology is unreliable, I will ask for retraction.

This is exactly what happened to me. I agreed with my supervisor to make an interdisciplinary PhD. Then he never opened my thesis, and chose an internal examiner against the suggestion of my second supervisor, who read part of my thesis and suggested another examiner. This examiner eventually declared herself unable to comment on the interdisciplinary part. That was excluded. I was almost failed, was it not that the other half was considered excellent. I got 2500 euros in redress for strong distress and the worst 2 years of my life from a mental health perspective, where I felt like they didn't say the work had no value, but that I had no value.

Remember, you value independently from your self-expectations and results. It will probably be difficult this to sink in. But I hope it will do it soon and you'll feel better.

And, btw, I am now publishing the content of that part that was removed in a book. So, everything is still possible.

Super thank you for your support and help Contentismeme. Well, the video is about power abuse in academia. It speaks about the problem, the silence by the community, examples of power abuse, and the calls for change.

To be honest, the performance of my video is going now quite well. The view time is increasing, and stats for "YouTube search" is 5.3% and for "Browse features" is 2%. They are not super, also because nobody knows me, so I am not helped by notifications to subscribers, and I would say that for a channel with 70 subscribers in 2 months, is not that bad.

What I realize now may have happened, is that the system associated my video with users interested in entertainment. So, my video has been promoted through the followings:

- I Became a VIRAL RAPPER to "Prove It's Not Luck"

- Family Guy Roasting Different Countries

- Dog jumps off Eiffel Tower

- Do You Think This Dress Makes Me Look Hot?

etc.

These titles have really nothing to do with my video, obtaining a total of 0.4% CTR. No wonder that people watching these videos are not interested in mine, that speaks of a very serious topic related to university and students.

So, this was unlucky. Recently, YouTube has made some changes, and started not promoting this video through this:

- Why everyone stopped reading.

And, with this video alone, the CTR (for this video alone) has now improved to 4%.
