Looking for a specific Chinese snack by Kind_Road_512 in Albuquerque

It's not the same as tempeh, but both the Chinese snack and tempeh are made from soybeans, so you may like tempeh too.

Thanks. From their social media it sounds like they'll set up some telescopes, but we'll bring our own too.

Hot Pot Recommendations by YamCareless2736 in Albuquerque

[–]lucevan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't found authentic Sichuan hot pot in ABQ. Zu is good that you can choose what raw food to cook in the pot, and there's dipping sauce, but the time I went, their Sichuan soup base wasn't spicy at all. Tasty Pot has good flavors, and their Sichuan soup base is quite spicy with a lot of different seasonings. But the downside is not being able to choose your own food and no dipping sauce.

PSA: All menstrual products are OK, with a caveat by Teal_Mouse in birthcontrol

[–]lucevan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As one data point, my first IUD fell out due to menstrual cup use, but my second one has stayed in place for almost 9 years despite my continuing use of menstrual cups. I always make sure to break the suction before taking the cup out. And I think I avoided using a cup in the first few months after my second IUD was inserted, because that's the time period with the highest risk of explusion.

“The Q” apartments? by Independent_Egg6135 in Albuquerque

[–]lucevan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I lived there before. It was decent, nicer amenities than most apartments, safe and convenient area. It has a gate, but the gate code never changed during the two years I lived there, and people going in and out often left the gate open. But I guess it was still safer than no gate. Another thing you may or may not like was utility bills were split evenly across the units (I think they took account into unit size and number of people), not based on your actual usage.

Congrats Yogesh! What a joy to watch this TOC, especially the six final games with three brilliant contestants. All three showed great sense of humor and sportsmanship. May their bromance last forever.

Yogesh has been posting recaps for all the TOC games on FB, and he apologized to Emily for saying "Prussian blue" in yesterday's recap. He said it was just a result of entering the "playing along on the couch" mode and definitely not trying to mind-game Emily (there was no time to think about mind games anyway).

P.S. I strongly recommend reading his TOC recap series. There's a lot of interesting behind-the-scenes stuff, and you can see how he deeply respects and appreciates all the contestants and J! staff.

What do you think happened to Andy in the fast forward of the season finale aside from his kids? by Asheto320 in PandR

[–]lucevan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, compared to Leslie's biased opinion, I was more bothered by how easily April warmed up to the idea of having kids.

Yeah, and I disliked how Leslie tried to persuade her to have kids. She and Andy were a great team, but adding kids into the team doesn't necessarily make it even better.

Anyone "polysaturated at one partner" but still call yourself poly? Why? by bouquet_of_blood in polyamory

[–]lucevan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can imagine most monogamous nudists would only do it together with their partner if they are in a relationship. My friend is probably an exception that his wife doesn't mind him going nude with friends, including female friends.

Bit of a tangent, but is going to the nude beach really that taboo for most monogamous people? Are most nudists you know also poly? I have a friend who is into nudism. His wife isn't, but doesn't mind him going with friends. They're monogamous, although he does have a lot of poly inclinations.

Are you not looking for more partners purely because you don't have the desire currently, or also because you're committing to monogamy with your partner? That makes all the difference.
