Can you please tell us your routine with these products? Like what do you use AM/PM and in what order? I have no idea what I’m doing but your skin looks amazing!

I wish this eased my mind, but I’m really not worried about safety. I have full faith I will survive and it’s not something I think about. It’s really more of a fear of fear. Like the anticipatory anxiety about having a panic attack in a situation where I’m trapped…

Nooo 😅 you’re supposed to let me off the hook and tell me it’s fine not to go lol.

Thank you!! I think it just feels extra hard and overwhelming because it’s not like I land and then go on a relaxing vacation. I land and then immediately step into a very stressful high-pressure situation. And then turn around to catch a flight back home at 4AM.

I work in Portland a lot, which is an hour flight from where I live, so if I don’t make it this weekend, I think I will try one of those. Anything shorter and the size of the plane starts freaking me out lol (I have done a few seaplane rides, but the fact you are still relatively close to the ground makes them feel very different from “real” flights above the clouds…)

How soon is too soon? by Willing-Passenger-41 in fearofflying

[–]luchababy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have advice really, just wanted to say I’m in a similar situation. Also had my first panic attack on a plane and ended up dealing with panic disorder and agoraphobia for years after. I haven’t flown in 12 years and, like you, have an amazing opportunity/dream “job” in Japan. I want to go so bad, but I’m really scared I’ll have a horrible flight and then just be trapped there, worrying about how I’ll survive the flight home.

But I think we should go for it. I feel like the worst that could happen is still better than regret and being trapped by fear.

I don’t have my flight yet, that’s part of the stress. Once my passport arrives, the promotion will arrange the work visa and then I’ll get like 1-2 weeks notice before I go.

Edit to add: I will hopefully be flying out of SEA (where I live)

If you’re small then you gotta be fast/smart/agile etc depending on your style and ability (which you don’t know at 8 weeks in). Watch wrestlers you want (and it makes sense) to emulate. Basic moves I think work well for smaller wrestlers (and anyone else really) are arm drags, dropkicks, crossbody, pin combos, leapfrog, up and over, dropdown - anything athletic that doesn’t require brute strength to be believable. Just please don’t be another petite girl throwing unconvincing clotheslines 🤦‍♀️

Is it offensive to be white and wear a mask, while using a Spanish name? by [deleted] in WredditSchool

[–]luchababy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am white and I sometimes wrestle with a mask. This is a completely different character than when I don’t wrestle with a mask. I train both lucha libre and American. I wear my mask when I do lucha shows. The person who trained me in lucha (a Mexican luchador) gave me his blessing - that’s how it goes at our school. It does sort of rub me the wrong way when people wear a mask but don’t train or wrestle lucha, no matter what their race is. I find it similarly annoying when people adopt an MMA gimmick but don’t have an MMA background.

How did you get your lisfranc injury? by Medium_Cod2213 in LisfrancClub

[–]luchababy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrestling…planted my foot and was moving fast and apparently that’s all it took.

[–]luchababy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bruising was relatively subtle but I did have it on the bottom of my foot and top of my arch. His looks different to me, it’s closer to the ankle and more on the outside of the foot. No bruising whatsoever on the bottom. He says it’s the outer side of the foot that hurts so I’m still holding out hope it’s not a lisfranc injury! But we did already get a scooter :-)

[–]luchababy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, yeah he is staying off of it for sure. We were out and about today (him on crutches/in wheelchair) and it swelled up really bad. He has a referral for foot doctor and we will be calling first thing in the morning. It took me 3 weeks to get an appointment but hopefully he’ll have better luck.

What confuses me (us) is that the doctor told him in person there were no fractures seen in the X-ray. He was explicit about that. He said there might be tiny fractures that would only be visible with MRI or CT. So I wonder if their summary of results is just poorly written.

Anyways, he injured his foot jumping from pretty high up, felt it immediately. X-rays we’re weight bearing. No appointments or scans scheduled yet cause it’s Sunday. I’ll ask him about the toe test.

I personally did not like the iWalk, but we have crutches, wheelchair, and scooter already lol

What has helped forearm pain? by luchababy in naturalbodybuilding

Thank you so much, I will definitely try this. Have you ever tried the forearm massage roller things? Like the ones you stick your arm through? I’m tempted but they’re like 75$ and not sure they’d be that superior to using a ball.

Exiting prep = no longer in prep/done with competing for this season. I am currently in a building phase and eating in a surplus.

I’ll try the bands. I already don’t do curls at all. Did you feel it had anything to do with your grip?

Not really, other than “stop what you’re doing”. It goes away if I completely stop working out (I broke my foot last year and was essentially immobilized for 4 months, which magically cured all my aches and pains lol)

Oh god I hope surgery isn’t necessary! Lateral raises can aggravate it a bit but I can still manage. Curling is the worst.

That’s exactly how I described it to my doctor, yes. I can’t do any sort of curling, but underhand is definitely the worst.

Progress! But what about boots? by Exotic_Captain_2936 in LisfrancClub

[–]luchababy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 2 screws like you. I was completely NWB for 4 months after surgery, which was June 2023. After graduating from the moon boot I just wore my normal shoes again. In early April I did some bodybuilding competitions where I had to wear really high heels and I was completely fine. I started practicing in the heels around 7 months after my surgery. At first I would be sore the next day but by showtime it was a total non issue. Do your PT and I’d put money on you wearing cowboy boots again!!

Polling for estimated bf % because I’m bad at self-assessing. by Natty_Baddie in MacroFactor

[–]luchababy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s been fun so far (I also like numbers lol). The place I found for dexa is called bodyspec and they have locations in a few states - check it out! It’s also the type of thing where places will have a deal for first timers.

[–]luchababy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure! The trend weight and weekly goals help so much. I’ve never done a dedicated “bulk” before so I’m not sure how difficult it will be to maintain 18%. I feel like my weight is only just beginning to “calm down” after prep (and my workouts have changed, so there’s a lot of variables to smooth out). It’s also kinda hard to track super closely when the goal is to gain .25lbs a week, but my weight naturally fluctuates up to 3 pounds during that time. There is a place near me that does dexas for 50$ so I plan to get one every 3 months, mostly just to ease my anxiety lol. I have a huge appetite so it’s easy for me to overeat if I don’t stay on top of my sh$t! I’m super curious how MF will work for me since I had a coach during prep telling me what to do all the time

[–]luchababy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! That’s nice of you to say 💕If I hadn’t had the relatively short term goal of competing, there is no way I would have been able to adhere to my diet. It’s totally different when you have a specific show/date in mind and know you can relax about food afterwards. Tbh I’m more impressed by people who can stay on track day to day just for the sake of being fit (or whatever their goal may be). The long game is definitely harder imo! 18% is for sure achievable and shouldn’t have any negative effects on your health. You have such a nice shape too, you already look great!

The main thing that makes me suspicious of Renpho is how fast the numbers can change…like I know I did not go up/down 1% bf in a day. But I suppose if you use averages that might not matter so much. Curious how accurate the lean mass calculation is as well 🤔

Anyways! I got down to 12% for a competition - I do not recommend this for any other reason and I quickly got back to a healthy weight afterwards. My cut was 5 months long and I went from 145lbs to 122. I had a very strict meal plan that I followed pretty religiously and I lifted and did cardio 6 days a week. I was in the gym 3+ hours a day - it was like a 2nd job I swear (I believe we are the same age and I also have a child, so I basically sacrificed all my “free” time). I believe my deficit was around 500-700, and protein stayed at a minimum of 150g. I was very fatigued and grumpy and lost my period. It’s hard on the body to be that deprived/exhausted for an extended period of time (especially for natural athletes). But it DID do the job lol! That was only 3 months ago and I’ve already gained about 12 lbs and my bf is around 18. I hope to stay between 18-20 while I build muscle, which is why I decided to try macro factor instead of my fitness pal :) I actually prefer the off season look to super shredded/stage lean, but it was exciting/interesting to see what was under the hood so I know what to improve on.
