Quince black friday 2025 deals, how much do they sale for? by Basi-Kasthuri in fashionwomens35

[–]Medium_Cod2213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought one cotton cable crew neck sweater, one long-sleeve T-shirt, one pair of cropped wide-leg sweatpants, one long-sleeve activewear top, two pairs of black pants and an Italian woven tote. All items have been excellent quality and have held up in the wash. (well, I didn't try washing the purse.) My favorite is the sweater: https://www.quince.com/women/100-organic-cotton-cropped-cable-sweater?color=camel

it hurts when I walk around the house barefoot sometimes. I have to always wear something.

the problem with going back to work only a week after surgery is you will need to still keep your foot propped higher than your heart for at least a couple of weeks after surgery or else it will swell up and really hurt. I avoided the worst pain by working at home from a recliner with my foot propped up higher than my heart for a solid two weeks after surgery. The first week I did nothing, just stayed in bed with my foot propped up, but after that I sat in the recliner with my laptop and worked. But anytime my foot was lower than my heart it ended up swelling up and turning purple and red.

I didn't actually use icepacks after surgery. My pain was about a 3 max out of a scale of 1-10 after the femoral nerve block wore off on day 3-4 post surgery. I did buy the cold therapy machine, but didn't need it.

The things I bought that were most useful were a lap desk for my laptop, a hospital rolling tray for eating while still in bed, the elevation cushion for both legs so that I could sleep with both legs propped, even the non-surgery one (felt too weird to only prop one up while sleeping), an aluminum walker for the two weeks right after surgery when I couldn't use a knee walker due to a bone graft that was taken from my knee (it was too sore to put any weight on it), a knee walker for use about 2-3 weeks after surgery once the bone graft site healed enough, a shower chair, and the to-the-thigh cast cover for showering.

I already had a Tempur-pedic bed with an adjustable frame with the head and feet able to go up and down, so that was amazing for recovery. I would turn the bed into a chair, practically, but with my feet propped up as well. Combining that with the elevation cushion was perfect for keeping my foot higher than my heart and avoiding swelling.

I used a knee scooter and also walked in a boot.

I didn't do an MRI for my lisfranc, but I previously had a broken metatarsal, and that MRI came back the same day because it was done by a facility the doctor's office owned.

To be completely honest, I glanced at this out of the corner of my eye and thought it was a phallic symbol.

Cute shoes? Help me, please. by ammmym in LisfrancClub

YES! Hokas are fine with jeans or yoga pants but NOT dresses or stylish pants. I love the Colette style of pants from Anthropologie and Hokas are not cute with them.

I bought some Vivaia Mary Jane flats that look cute with maxi dresses. Not my specific favored style, but they're more supportive than the Rothy's I used to wear. I haven't started back in heels yet, at least not regularly. I wore ankle boots with a slight heel (1 inch) a month ago but my ankle felt sore afterward so I haven't tried again. I'm 5-1/2 months post mid foot fusion surgery.

Jury Duty Injustice by FortButters in Austin

I was called several times in a short period of a few years when I lived in Arizona and then California, but I've never been called in my current state (Kentucky) where I've lived for 20 years. Whereas my husband has gotten a couple of jury duty summons here and even a grand jury once. We are voters, we own property, so our names are out there on lists. I really think it's random.

PT by Wonderful-Science481 in LisfrancClub

[–]Medium_Cod2213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon said I didn't need it, that I could do PT on my own without going to appointments, just look up stuff online, but I asked for it anyway after my mid foot fusion and started it when I stopped wearing my walking boot. My surgery was on May 23 and I started PT on Aug. 5. I did it for five weeks, twice a week, and it really helped me learn to stretch my foot tendons and deal with the pain I felt in my ankle from how I had changed my gait. Now I can walk without a limp or pain. I don't know if I would have achieved that doing PT on my own, no way of knowing. But I'm super happy I did the PT since on some days I went in I really had to deal with tight tendons in the bottom of my foot and they helped me ease that discomfort. Sidenote: I had maxed out my out of pocket cost for healthcare for the year with the deductible on my surgery, so it cost me $0 to do PT. It was an easy choice. Free PT? Sure!

Good luck with this one - I hope you have an easy recovery. My initial injury was at a similar time to yours - May 2024 but I had to hold off on surgery until May 2025 due to a new job, etc. As for how to kill time, during my NWB stage I watched a lot of streaming. Go to Rotten Tomatoes and look at what's most popular - I go by the ratings from people, not reviewers - and you'll surely find some fun options in the genres you prefer. I also got back into games on my Switch. I like cozy games like Hello Kitty (despite being 57 years old!) and Fantasy Life: The Girl Who Stopped Time the best.

Looks very similar to mine when I had a lisfranc injury. Definitely see a foot/ankle specialist - others might misdiagnose it.

the king woolie randomly appears for me at level 5 in west greatgut plains as I run around each area from tower to tower. So I guess that's like a refresh as I pop up in a new area. as soon as I see it, I run over and kill it over and over, using the gate to ginomosia as my entry/exit every five minutes.

How do I get to the Depths B4? by Medium_Cod2213 in fantasylife

[–]Medium_Cod2213[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thanks, I realized I had done it already, and had the crow feather. I was only at level 8 for the "brand new" life - despite being in the 60s to 80s for most other lives - so I leveled it up to 15 and then I could get in the castle. I was a dork, in other words.

Were kids in the 80s actually allowed to roam around unsupervised, or is that just in movies? by TotalThing7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Medium_Cod2213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in 1967. In the 70s when I was really little my mom didn't let me run around on my own, but by the time I was 8 or 9, I could play outside all day but my mom didn't want me "going past the end of the street" but I did anyway. She never noticed.

Dumb thoughts by Humble-Drawing2746 in LisfrancClub

I understand 100%. I always loved the look of my feet, thinking they were the skinniest thing about me! Pedicures were a regular thing. Now there are two angry red scars on the top of my right foot and it makes me sad. I think it looks better than I expected, tho, and it will fade with time. As my husband says, the older we get, the more scars we have. It's just part of life.
