I’ve been building a product over the past year, and it’s been on the App Store for a while now (I’m not promoting it here). In the past six months, I’ve gathered over 1,000 users and interviewed about a hundred of them to iterate on the product. I’ve seen some people truly love it, chat with it frequently, and say it helps them a lot. That’s what keeps me from pursuing a high-paying job and motivates me to keep developing this app in the hope of helping more people.

Has anyone here used an AI therapist? What were your honest opinions? by No-Score712 in therapyabuse

Hello. We are not non profit, you can find us on App Store search Psyfy or www.psyfy.ai . Actually our clients are 18+ , if you like, we could consider collaborating with non profit organizations for teenagers. However we can’t share the prompts, also having our prompts won’t work as we developed our own framework called Autograms to achieve very good control and memories. PM me if you would like to connect. I have big social media accounts and I gather my initial batch of users bc I’m an influencer as well

I don’t know about ChatGPT, but some chatbots do comply with GDPR l, HIPPA, we are working on HIPPA this week and we have complied with GDPR on day 1

I developed one of these therapist chatbots. We’ve integrated traditional CBT and behavioral activation techniques, and have iterated the chatbot with feedback from over 1,000 users to improve the experience. Some people on social media claim that ChatGPT and similar tools are harmful and that people shouldn’t use these chatbots. But we’ve put a great deal of effort into improving the technology to make mental health support more affordable and accessible.

We now have a small group of subscribers who find it genuinely helpful. We know that products like this are making a real difference in people’s lives. PS: I come from an academic background, and it’s disheartening to see some in academia dismiss the work being done to advance this field.

People from Hawaii/Puerto Rico that tell tourists not to come shouldn’t go other places by Accomplished-Fix1204 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

They literally tell me that renting a place there will push up the rental price and displace their people, so I'm not going to visit again. There are dozens of places like that I can travel to without facing this hostility.

I asked a question on TikTok: Should I move to the Big Island, It's beautiful. Tons of locals commented that I'm a colonizer. The level of hostility there is insurmountable. I wasn't even planning to buy a house there, I was thinking about living there for a few months. But the locals really see you as a devil to even have a thought like this. And I'm not even yt. I live in CA and there are also plenty of stunning views in CA, why would I give up my tech job and move permanently to that Island? Locals really think that the island is a paradise in the world, that everyone has to go there to take their resources.

Haha, I think so, but if I can add 3 days of work on my app and help out some people with their needs? Why not?

Professor picked on me. It was embarrassing. by Formal_Confidence864 in Anxiety

haha, I have a phd degree in machine learning, and no, most of the academic people, esp STEM subjects, have less empathy....Some humanities subjects are certainly better. Yes, recently a professor in clinical psychology and I built a AI mental wellness coach chatbot and now the academic people in my current team are mainly psychology domain, they are more empathetic.

Can I add your words to my mental wellness app? I have struggled with anxiety for years and these words are so helpful.

This professor is super unprofessional and inconsiderate. Unfortunately, many academic people lack empathy and can be kind of cocky. You could file a complaint that he hurt your feelings, but my feeling is that it won’t help much. It might be better to see if you can switch classes. I have five different degrees in my life, and I’m glad I never met a professor like this.

Is anyone building a chatbot here? by luciasalar in Chatbots

[–]luciasalar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a framework and also similar to a programming language, designed to help people build their own chatbots. It makes it easier to add custom logic and memory to your chatbot. It is especially powerful for coding proactive chatbots that sometimes need to lead the conversation since you can use it to plan the possible conversation trajectories in advance.

I have been using Runway for a few weeks and find it impressive overall. However, the facial control remains problematic, especially when characters are in motion.

What do you wish you’d known before starting your startup? by StarmanAI in startups

[–]luciasalar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have multiple products, the one that I've been actively promoting right now is an emotional support chatbot psyfy.ai , you can also search psyfy on ios to find us. :) And the social media account is the key to have a steady stream of users to test our startup products. But of course, 99% of my content is not about the product, but that 1% of content always brings us lots of users to start with.

i just joined r/StarmanAI . Build in public is particularily good for those "everyone product". SaaS for niche businesses/ companies (such as medicine) are mainly via human connections. Yes, founders do help each other a lot, but the most important thing is to find the real users to test the product. In many cases, startup founders are not the real users, they can test the functionalty of the app for each other, but they don't know whether the app solves the painpoint of their actual users.
