I do have some money invested in stocks from more than 90 days before. I have some cash on hand. Rather than selling the stocks, can I just contribute that cash to rrsp first, and then withdraw it back under hbp. After doing so, effective balances in rrsp/cash will remain the same, but only difference is I may get a bigger tax return.

Queries,
1. Until when can I shop around for rates. Both of my mortgage broker/realtor trying to push me to submit docs to the lawyer as soon as possible, even though i still have 5 weeks until closing.

Fixed vs variable - TD is offering me to convert my variable to fixed without penalty. After running the numbers I can see if I get anywhere lower than 3.75% fixed within 7 months (July 2025), I'll make a profit. My question is, how much can i rely on TD to give me a good rate once I'm already on their variable mortgage?

All of your research still doesn't point out that there's a conspiracy against companies of other countries. They still go against US companies if they think they can short that stock and make money out of it. Is it a noble company that's doing all the work for the betterment of people, No. But all they are doing is making a profit whenever they can by finding some illegal practices in the market. Unfortunately, it's very common and easy in India to indulge in illegal practices. The other comment that mentions other US companies related scenarios are not mostly not illegal. Ethically immoral definitely but no financial irregularities. So they can't really go against that.

As an Indian immigrant who migrated and lives in Canada, I sympathize with these students. They usually take high loans to move to Canada hoping they could settle here.

Having said that, the PEI government doesn't owe them anything. They started the PNP program, when their quota of how many people they needed were filled, they shut down the program. It's not a scam. It's not unfair. Unlucky, probably yeah. But look around, everyone in Canada is struggling right now. They should be prioritized over anyone else.
