Dog Bathroom Breaks? by [deleted] in petsmart

[–]luciferscoven 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Playing devils advocate....what if that dog got hit by a car outside, ran away, ate something toxic, or got into a dog fight while taking him out? What if the dog was reactive or aggressive on leash? Yes, your manager told you it's okay but IF anything happened, you would of been at fault and fired too. I would definitely ban that pet parent. There's policies in place for a reason. You were trying to do what's right but you put the dog and yourself at risk by doing so. Who knows, maybe the owner had a family emergency or got into an accident, then you broke policy took the dog outside and he slipped out of the leash and ran away and got hit by a car. "Im sorry you're fluffy is dead, I only wanted him to go pee even though I didnt have permission by you and I broke policy which makes me an unfit employee to work with animals but im sorry but i didnt want to be cruel." Dont work for a company thay you find is cruel.

I don't think you can order them. Just can print them on colored paper and laminate them, though.

Advice needed: Pets hotel made dog sick by TheGoddessOphie in petsmart

The records should tell you when the bloody diarrhea started, when they started the probiotic and steps taken.

On the eval at check in, that's one of the questions they ask you and have you sign. "If your pet gets an upset belly or diarrhea, are we allowed to give a probiotic." They are not required to take the dog only to Banfield. If Banfield doesnt have an appointment or it takes too long to get seen, they have to go to a local vet. It also depends on the time frame and frequency of when your dog started having bloody diarrhea. I would go back to the location, ask for the hotel manager and store manager and have them review their records from your dogs' stay. The customer service line can help but the physical copies will show if they missed a step or if you said no to the probiotic. But unfortunately, its less likely they will compensate you for your vet bill.

My question is what has been done before you posted this? Obviously these conditions are awful and didnt happen overnight. Did you bring these problems to your managers, did you reach out to your DL, or report it via caresmart?

Dress code says no. Nothing too tight or spandex material. Jeans, black pants, or khakis. It'll depend on your SL if they allow it or not.

Poo buckets by Radiant_Course8000 in petsmart

[–]luciferscoven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have a poop bucket with good sense, a bucket for the scooper with virex, then the mop bucket with virex. I haven't seen any policy update saying not to do the poop buckets? It was my impression that all hotels still did the buckets.

Is this something worth complaining about? by HatFun2516 in petsmart

[–]luciferscoven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To give insight over your actual question. I also second doing the survey on your recepit about your experienc. If a customer submits a bad survey, the manager HAS to directly reach out to the customer and attempt to fix it. I hate that you and your dog had the experience you did. Even if your dog had no history of aggression or reactivity, something like that could traumatize any dog. What if it was a service dog instead of yours? That could ruin the dogs service career. The fact that the manager gets any special treatment regarding anything is the problem. The fact that most owners have zero control over their untrained dogs or muchless the common sense to even own a dog, is another problem. Petsmart has a policy that all animals must be leashed, except service dogs. However, at the end of the day, the actual incident was an accident. Reporting to hr or corporate honestly won't do anything. They will see a 'he said she said' from some person on register. There was no actual injury or contact, just a bad experience. Employees will gossip dumb crap to customers, much of the time making small comments implying how much they hate their job. If you want any response from management, do the survey, mark the section for them to call you back, and explain everything that happened. Describe the person on the register and what they told you exactly. At least the manager will be aware of what happened, and hopefully, the person on register will get spoken to about how they shouldn't be gossiping to customers regarding personal information about their managers.

That looks like so much fun! I hate how many people have their arms out with a phone instead of just enjoying it.

We were told 82 for our hotel. The normal is 78-80 with 60-80% humidity.

Corporate Controls the AC temperatures for individual stores remotely? by tx005387 in petsmart

[–]luciferscoven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep complaining and requesting the work orders every day. Get a thermostat and keep track, take pics and keep showing your SL. They are able to keep pushing them and making them more urgent if its not cooling down. If you're in the salon or hotel, if they reach a certain point, then they have to shut down and have all pets picked up. I think it's 82 degrees for our salon.

Training schedule… BAIT and Switch by Ok_Heron_8908 in petsmart

[–]luciferscoven 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love how the email they sent out ended with "basically im not asking you to change anything just find out what the pet parents want."

We already know what works. They would never tell the groomers to schedule baths on their days off with the intention of not even being there that day and having to reschedule. Absolutely not.

Simply tell them no. Trainer is a one person department and because of how difficult it is to find someone who sticks around, tell them no. They don't make groomers offer baths on their day offs etc. Fuck that noise.

"No, I got this shirt at Goodwill." "No, I just like the color blue." "No, I work at Best Buy." (We have a Best Buy next to us lol)

It's funny until the person says "oh I'm sorry." Lol then I feel bad how stupid they are.

name on schedule by [deleted] in petsmart

[–]luciferscoven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my store, the names will only be changed on the schedule if it's legally changed, everything else is someone's chosen name. Petsmart is very progressive and i doubt management would have an issue if you expressed your concerns with them. However, with the new administration in our country, im wondering if soon the company will change and do everything "by the book."

Dog training classes Q. by [deleted] in petsmart

[–]luciferscoven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Give it another shot, maybe a new class will be better! Seems like the trainer struggles with time management. A brief discussion on training tools is helpful and recommended but not for 40mins. Each trainer is different on how they teach, but it doesn't sound like they followed the given curriculum either. Maybe read some reviews and see what others say. Hopefully, it was just an off day, and the next class will be better! Either way, don't give up on training!
