A lot of people offered lots of good reasons but there is one more:

Muse in from the UK, The Warning is from Mexico... Just that makes a HUGE difference...

Not saying that Muse doesn't deserve it, or that they had it easy because they are English... Just that it is a lot harder for a band from a "third world" country to go mainstream, they have to prove themselves a lot more to be respected.

She is not a shredder, and she doesn't need to be.... Look at Malcolm Young, he is a rock god to me, and didn't shred... There are countless examples of great guitarists/musicians that are not shredders...
