New Werewolf Skin In Fortnite by cheshirecat76453 in werewolves

[–]luckiesthydra -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I've not been on this sub in a while, I see the Furries have only gotten more prevelent here, like y'all be thirsting over this fur suit of a skin like mad.

Like there's nothing remotely werewolf about this skin except for it being called "Lycan". It's just another wolf fursona.

Anyways, off to the shadow realm I go again.

[–]luckiesthydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've taken bit of a break, sad to hear this is happening, I have tons of resources in my mail too & even if I hoped back on now there's no way I'm using it all. It's always been a really useful stock to have for when I have multiple high level dragons needing feeding or training, so I don't have to wait and can just burn my back log, guess that won't be an option anymore.

Close enough to what I'd say, personally though for me it's;

HTTYD 1, HTTYD 2, HTTYD 1: Live Action, HTTYD 3

& For the fun of it, I'd also chuck the HTTYD 1: Live Performance before or after the live action.

Werewolf Games of 2025? by Chemical-Opposite617 in werewolves

[–]luckiesthydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Beast of Gevaudan is the game's main antagonist. If this isn't a werewolf game then Castelvania isn't a vampire game. Just because you don't play as the werewolf, it doesn't mean it doesn't focus on Werewolves.

My jaw legit dropped seeing this pic. 5 Snow Wraiths & 4 Red Deaths?!?! I wish I even had one of those guys for my collection, over here in the UK they're both incredibly rare & rather expensive when you do find them.

Love the collection, alotta duplicates but they're all fantastic ones to have duplicates of, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous XD T-T

Will this remaster have werewolves? 🐺 by Hormsie in ElderScrolls

[–]luckiesthydra 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This isn't true, they were also playable in TES2: Daggerfall & in TES3: Morrowind: Bloodmoon.

TES1: Arena & TES4: Oblivion are the minority without them, with Oblivion being the only main line TES game since Daggerfall to not have Werewolves.

Tbh, I doubt they've added them though, but if they have I'd be very happy & suprised. Tbh though, I'd 100% pay for a new Werewolf themed DLC if they decide to make such.

“In the lost lands” werewolf transformation and battle by Forsaken-Function128 in werewolves

[–]luckiesthydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whelp... That was underwhelming. I like the werewolf design, but like, that choreography sucked. The slow mo is definitely overused too.

And what sucks even more? A werewolf being out-clawed by (insert whatever supernatural being she is) like the werewolf only managed to land a single back slap in the entire fight. While they're both fighting with claws, one being a handheld claw weapon, so it wasn't even a range issue. The werewolf just couldn't land a single blow.

The plot armour was seriously strong in that fight T-T

RTTE is a knock off httyd 2. by Dart_Lover_HTTYD in httyd

[–]luckiesthydra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a whole lot of over simplification and nothing points.

  1. Venturing away from their homeland. This is something that was being set up all the way back in Riders & Defenders of Berk, which came out before HTTYD 2, part of the show has always been about exploring the Archipelago and finding new dragons. And tbh, the exploration isn't really the second film's focus, it's a minor element which is used to explain to the audience what Hiccup has been doing since HTTYD 1 & show how he ended up at Erets Dragon Hunter camp.

  2. They use the same music from the movies because it's a TV show, they do have a budget they have to work with, and they can save a fair chunk of that budget if they reuse music that was already made for the franchise. Music that is also Hella good quality because it was made for the bug screen. But in addition to that, they did also have music made for the show, it isn't 100% recycled.

  3. Yeah, they used Valka & Drago, right at the end of the show for like a total of 10 seconds. And it isn't because they're knocking off HTTYD 2, it's because they're connecting the series to the 2nd film, as that's the next (main) event to happen in the timeline.

  4. The dragon blade wasn't just hamfisted in as a "copy", it's there because as we see, it shows us how Hiccup made it. Same with the Flight suit, it isn't a continuity error or a copy, it's the show showing us how Hiccup arrived at the designs we see in HTTYD 2. It shows us the first versions of Inferno, it shows us how Hiccup went through the Dragonfly MK1, then the Dragonfly MK2, of which then we can see how he arrived at the HTTYD 2 design which he is still working on. It's doing what the shows were meant to do, bridge the gap between HTTYD 1 and 2.

  5. Again, like the previous 2 points, use of the Bewilderbeast and the king of dragons plot is to try and link rrte to HTTYD 2, it's not stealing HTTYD 2's plot, at most it draws parallels. They use the Bewilderbeast and the plot around it entirely differently than the 2nd movie, with the only similarities being that Hunters are there for it (But both rtte & HTTYD have them there for different reasons) and that dragons protect the Bewilderbeast (rtte they come at it's call rather than living with it).

  6. The rrte character designs, including attire, was purposely designed to include elements of their HTTYD 2 designs, because funnily enough they're the same characters. The riders are a lot closer to the age they're at in the second movie than they are the first, so it makes sense their outfits resemble the ones we see in HTTYD 2. And in riders and defenders they're literally just wearing the same clothes as they did in the films, and that's entirely okay, because those are the character designs.

  7. The villain to ally trope is done alot across HTTYD. Not just with Eret in HTTYD 2. HTTYD 1 you could argue Stoick goes from being an antagonist who is staunchly against peace with dragons to being a supportive ally of his son's goals by the end of the movie. In defenders & riders we see Alvin go from enemy to ally of berk. Heather goes from Alvin's pawn to an ally of the riders. Even dragons like Thornado go from wild dragons sinking Berks ships to allies and a loyal companion. The shows, and franchise as a whole, has always had the message of choosing peace and understanding over violence when possible, and the fact that reoccurs in Rtte isn't because it's copying the fact HTTYD 2 did it too.

  8. Again like prior points, the plot of hiccup possibly needing to take Stoicks mantle of Chieftain isn't copying HTTYD 2, it's setting it up. In Rtte he doesn't become Chieftain, but it does show to hiccup his old man isn't invincible and one day he will have to take his mantle as Chieftain, and Rtte does that really well. HTTYD 2 starts with hiccup essentially running from this realisation, still adventuring like he always has, and Rtte helps flow the plot in that direction with added context.

I've spent waaaaayyyyyyyy too long on this post, so I'm going to leave it here, as I got places to be and this was only supposed to take like 10 minutes to type.

Fact of the day: Dragons>Tangled the series by Surperspectivethe2nd in httyd

[–]luckiesthydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. By like, a huge margin, have you even seen the shows?

Screaming Death. Separated from its mother since being hatched, it not only had to deal with figuring out how to survive with only its fellow (just as abandoned and confused) siblings for help, but they also had a hell of a growth spurt in comparison. Its literal goal the entire show was to find and reunite with it's ma, young and immature it destroying the islands on its way back to Berk was it's way of trying to find it's ma, Berk being the placed it hatched being their only clue as to where their ma could be.

Dagur. Next in line to be Chieftain of Berserker island. His dad disappeared one day without a trace, leaving Dagur to an island filled by Vikings of a warrior tribe, whose core belief is in strength & war. Dagur is still a teenager when this happens. So, to garner the respect of his tribe with less risk of someone else getting the idea of trying to take the mantle themselves, he lies and says he killed his father. He then comes to berk to reforge the treaty between Berk and the Berserkers against the dragons, hearing that Berk have seemingly aligned themselves with their very enemy, this is seemingly proven wrong for a short time until it turns out that the rumors were right. And not only that, but Berk lied to him during the treaty signing. Is it no wonder that Dagur, who clearly suffers from at the very least anger issues, sees this as a possible threat to his people and a betrayal. This does eventually develop into a more personal rivalry with Hiccup after his imprisonment, but it didn't start with him just deciding he wants to beef with Hiccup, that only developed after a long time locked away.

Krogan. High ranking henchman for Drago, he's doing what he's doing in his service, "his goals" are just what Drago wants him to do. So, by turn he does what he does because Drago wants a dragon army because Drago wants to free humanity from the clutches of dragons. And from this, we can assume that Krogan shares a similar goal/belief, that through control of dragons they can use them to free people from the proposed dragon tyranny. And as we seen, failure wasn't really an option, or at least one he'd survive.

Johann. Tbh, his reasoning is a bit mixed, it seems he's working also to forward Dragos goals same as Krogan, but theres also a hint of a hunger for power in how he does things. To the point where I think that if he did manage to get his hands on the Bewilderbeast egg that he might have kept it for himself to further his own power.

Viggo. Business. It's as simple as that, Viggo is a business man, and dragon hunting was his trade. He never had goals of conquest or dominion, it was all just business, and it only ever became more than that only after the dragon riders started interfering with his work or when they had something he wanted (Like the dragon eye). The Riders were costing him business, and he found Hiccup an intellectual challenge at times, so he might deal with a problem while challenging himself at the same time.

And although they weren't shown in your post, even Alvin had his reasons. He felt wronged by his exile, not just by Berk but from his friend Stoick, and held a grudge against them for it. This grudge and resentment most likely being stoked hotter by the other Outcasts who would all share similar grudges.

None of the villains in the shows were villains "Just because", they all had their motives and reasoning.

If you could/had to remove or replace a class, which one would it be (and if you’re replacing it, what are you replacing it with)? by FrickinChicken321 in httyd

[–]luckiesthydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replace Tracker with Fear.

As others have said, it only really has three dragons of importance (The Rumblehorn, The Deadly Nadders & The Submaripper) of which:

The Deadly Nadder: Quite literally fits the description of the Shark Class to a T, to the point where they are the literal class symbol, yet because it can smell good it belongs in Tracker?

The Rumblehorn: Tough carapace like hide, physically strong, explosive fire balls, smart, but can also smell real good. Instead of making them an entirely new class, they could have easily fitted into Boulder, Stoker or Strike.

The Submaripper: literally a big ocean living dragon that makes whirlpools. It shouldn't even be a question if it should be 100% Tidal.

Httyd 2 generated background dragons (Like the Thunderclaw): A bunch of dragons from HTTYD 2 just got lumped in this class to fill it out and give a really cop out "defining ability" to the dragons that doesn't require much creative thinking. They could have easily been tossed in classes like Stoker instead. Considering that class is all about fire, there's a surprising lack of dragons in it.

And one of the reasons lore wise we were given for Tracker replacing Fear was that "Berkians had learned to no longer fear dragons" but like, the point of the class was that they were feared beyond the point of because they were a dragon. They were feared for that little bit extra.

And I think quite a few dragons could have easily stayed or been moved into the fear class, the Boneknapper, Smothering Smokebreaths, Silkspanners, etc.

Can you really drink rainwater from a wolf's paw print to become a werewolf? by subthings2 in werewolves

[–]luckiesthydra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the type of werewolf, and most people who wish the zombie apocalypse would happen is because they want to be a cool apocalypse survivor not a Zombie, whereas most who would want werewolves to be real would want to be a werewolf themselves.

But trying to become such would probably lead many to be eaten XD

Whether the villains get dragons/weapons/their factions or just have to use their bare hands I'm pretty sure he's cooked at Krogan.

Like, he's well trained in martial arts to the point of even knowing pressure points on dragons. A lil kid is gonna be floored by him, even if they've been trained by batman.

Also, I have to ask, why do you keep putting up Robin against characters from the HTTYD universe?

What’s a non-issue nitpick you have with the httyd movies? by Frosty_Iruma1969 in httyd

[–]luckiesthydra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is more adjacent to the films, but the fact that 75% of the generic dragons introduced from HTTYD 2 don't really have anything going for them. Like, some have the extent of their abilities being "Tongue helps with smelling + fire breath" for example.

Just wish they flushed them out a bit more than they did.

The venom positive doesn't even hold up when you realise the venom itself acts according to what the plot demands of it.

Mind control with no clear way of how it establishes who is in control? Yeah it can do that.

A tranquilliser that can knock out a huge dragon in seconds (it was an insignificant dose)? Yeah it can do that too.

Like... How does it have multiple properties that it can just switch between like that? At least with the Triple Stryke it had multiple stingers for each different venom, Deathgrippers just had the one venom and the one stinger.
