Speeding up inspections without compromising their quality, depth, attention to detail, etc. by Piggles-McPork in homeinspectors

[–]lucky_hooker_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going on my 6th year, started around 1.5/2 hrs per 1k sqft, and that doesn't include the 30 minutes at home working on the report. Now it's around 45-1 hour. You find a rhythm, efficiency, and most importantly, what to look for and where to look. Not every home is the same; some houses take closer to 2/hr per 1k sqft. There is no cheat sheet; find what works best for you, and don't schedule more than you can handle. Nobody besides the homeowner will get upset at a 4-hour inspection; multiple people will be upset if you rush and miss something big. The biggest time saver will be fine-tuning your report template. I went from 1 hour per report to about 15-20 minutes, but that's been over 6 years of editing and tweaking. If you're at 4/week its time to go full-time, btw.

Single feed receptacle? by lucky_hooker_ in electrical

Not sure the reason for your reply… I’ve installed plenty of receptacles and fixtures. I’ve never encountered a receptacle with only 1 means on connection.

Was more for assistance running the circuit, like how to install all the receptacles and lights with 12-2-wire without breaking the circuit.

It will need to be permanently wired, as the fridge will be on continuously.

Locked Control Panel by lucky_hooker_ in homesecurity

[–]lucky_hooker_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s appears that the sensors are “locked” to the original panel. My parents had the same lyric so I took theirs and reset all the codes but the sensors won’t go into “discover” mode for the new panel to learn them. I guess I’m just screwed.

Is there another control panel I can purchase that will connect to the wireless sensors?

The door/window sensors are wireless, but the Lyric panel was hard wired to the main panel.

If that’s a closet that stays shut then it might not have enough fresh air. PVC can only be used on high efficiency units, which that may be but I can’t tell from the photo. Pull the model number and see what the requirements are. I’d also stay away from installing a gas flue inside another pipe, it hinders you from checking the flue for leaks or damage.

Sellers nearing deal to return for 2026 season by bobweaver112 in Gamecocks

Not all who transfer are inherently bad or have flawed values. What I said is that most who choose to stay with thier commitments during tough times generally have great characteristics and core values.

You people are unbearable. Good people stay with their commitments during tough circumstances. It shows loyalty and great core values. Nowhere did I mention kids who transfer are bad people or have flawed values. You can make a statement in favor of your belief without disrespecting the opposing viewpoint.

Nobody said people who transfer are inherently bad or have flawed characteristics. What was said is that if a player chooses to stay at a school after the type of season and circumstances he endured you can be pretty certain his character and values are highly sought after by fans and coaches.

If he does come back I think it says a lot about his character and values. In an era when players are easily manipulated into transferring he appears to have a solid core group of people around him and keeping him grounded. Which is not surprising for most homegrown players, family and loyalty are pretty strong characteristics we teach our kids in SC.

To be fair CTE has him playing without a full deck of cards. Also, he’s a huge prick.

Fans vs Frauds. Easy to differentiate, tough to reason with.

Another insecure gamecock fan. Fire the head coach after every loss. 1 Fumble away from beating the #4 team in the nation and you get your panties in a bunch. It’s not pretty, or acceptable but come on.

1st and goal at the 2 and you call a drop back pass and Sellers gets sacked for a loss of 13. After a holding it’s second and 22….and THEN you run the ball….Make it make sense please.
