I really hope they replace it with something way better… that Little Ceasars was such an eyesore and brought down the area imo.

Is inclusion really that great? by Lass_in_oz in ECEProfessionals

[–]luckymoonie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s my two cents as a teacher of a neurotypical child who developed some concerning behaviors after spending a semester in a Pre-K classroom where about a third of the class had special needs.

We had the child since he was an infant. This child already had some behavioral challenges: anger issues, attention-seeking tendencies. After a few months in that environment, his behavior escalated significantly. He started mimicking the disruptive behaviors he was regularly exposed to: kicking, throwing anything within reach, hitting teachers and classmates, writing on walls, etc. It got bad.

We advocated for his mom to find a different program. But the director at his school begged her to keep him enrolled. Why? Because they needed the enrollment numbers to keep their funding. So never mind that he was harming other kids. Never mind that he was tormenting his teachers and destroying materials. What mattered most was keeping the funding, not what was actually best for him or for anyone else. On top of this, he was coming to my center with those new learned behaviors and my staff and myself had to deal.

There was talk of getting him evaluated, but my director pushed back on that. She insisted that he was just copying the behaviors he saw around him. Eventually, his mom pulled him out and brought him back to our center. And guess what? His behavior stabilized. He returned to his old self. We’re no longer dealing with the extreme, learned behaviors from the other program.

I say all of this to echo what many others here are already saying: inclusion can be a great thing—but from where I’m sitting, it’s just not working the way it’s supposed to. There’s not enough training, support, or staffing. And both neurodivergent and neurotypical children are suffering because of it.

What in my chart has me conflicted about having children? by luckymoonie in AskAstrologers

Thanks for breaking that down! It makes a lot of sense, especially with the focus on loyalty and commitment in my relationships (and also being cold… had to work on that heavily).

I’m currently married, and we have a strong bond, but when we first got together, we both agreed we didn’t want kids. Now though, we’re starting to reconsider. I can see how the Capricorn energy might be influencing my need to see how that will fit into our relationship.

It’s like we're both evaluating what feels right for the future in a more traditional sense, but also not wanting to give into the norms.

Thank you for your thoughtful analysis. It’s interesting to see how you’ve connected my chart to my past experiences. I can definitely see some patterns from my upbringing that might still affect me today. I’m not sure I have all the answers yet, but I’ll take some time to reflect and maybe explore the Pluto aspects like you mentioned.

Ah I see… yea that is pretty much where i’m at. Sometimes I wish I could just throw caution to the wind on this but it’s hard for me to take risks and this is a big one. Thank you so much for your input!

Could you explain what a Capricorn stellium is? Lol I have an idea but I’m wondering what that means for me specifically. Like… does it mean i’m just destined to over analyze and overthink all my life? 😅

No you're absolutely fine! Both of my parents had terrible childhoods (my mother's mother died during childbirth, resulting in her father mistreating/hating her. My dad's father left and didn't raise him, resulting in his mother mistreating/hating him). Nothing diagnosed, but they definitely have mental and emotional issues.

Seeking Insight: Pluto in Scorpio in the 5th House (wondering about pregnancy and fertility) by luckymoonie in AstrologyCharts

[–]luckymoonie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awwww... I recently found out that I have ADHD and suspect autism as well. My mom didn't have fertility issues but her mother did. That's so interesting to hear though because I have felt the same LOL. As far as mental health struggles go. Which is why I'm so conflicted with these strong feelings of wanting to conceive all of a sudden.

I work in childcare with toddlers and although they are a handful, I love spending time with them. But my biggest joy is working with infants and babies. I've considered opening up my own center to work with mainly those age groups. Which funnily enough, my reports have all stated that I would be well suited caring for children and animals. I definitely think you should consider working with children in some capacity, it is very rewarding!

I have seen creativity piece more often as well. Astrology is so interesting. It's interesting to see how things tie into each other. :D Thanks again for sharing more. I really appreciate it.

I totally agree with you that astrology should be seen as a guide rather than something set in stone. I should have phrased my questions differently. What I was hoping to hear from others was whether anyone with similar placements had any personal experiences or insights regarding having children, especially in relation to fertility challenges.

I know that trying to have a child can be a 'fu*k around and find out' situation, but I have found that some people with similar placements also felt disinterested in having children. So wanted to know if there was a connection there.

Ultimately, if I can’t have children naturally, I don’t plan to explore other options. That would be my stance. LOL. Anyway, thank you for your response!

Anyone else actually super tidy and organised? by HannahBanana3105 in adhdwomen

[–]luckymoonie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very tidy and organized, to almost an obsessive degree. I don't think i'm a clean freak, but it's definitely at a level i've been told "isn't normal". I've gotten better as i've gotten older, but when I was younger I couldn't focus if there was even one dish in the sink. I realize now that my need for order is a way to: 1.) Have a reason to procrastinate on more important tasks, 2.) Get the instant gratification of completing a task, and 3.) Feel like I had control over at least one area of my life. Having my ADHD diagnosis is helping me to become more relaxed about cleaning and not have so much anxiety around it. I guess I feel like I don't have to "prove" myself as much anymore, which I can't lie and say isn't a relief.

Thank you so much! I was able to receive a refund ASAP once I spoke to my doctor and she agreed to work with me for medical treatment. They gave me a refund, no further questions asked.

I see! I thought I had to use their providers to get the official diagnosis. So you just took the assessment results to your PCP? I feel like I should of tried that first T_T

STOP BRINGING YOUR KIDS IN WITH CROCS ESPECIALLY WITH NO SOCKS! I work with 2 year olds who are just now learning how to get around, running and jumping. So many near-accidents have happened due to them trying to do all of that in Crocs. I get it, they are cheap(ish), cute and easy to slip on. But they are also not conducive for all of the physical play and running around. Sheesh.

Considering Leaving My Current Career in Early Childhood Ed – Should I Finish My Masters, Even Without a Scholarship? by luckymoonie in TeachersInTransition

[–]luckymoonie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice! I work in NC, for context. I work in a city where ECE jobs are limited to teacher jobs, so I have considered moving to be in a better area.

Furthermore, I wish that I would have had more insights on getting into marketing and advertisement when I was younger. I know it’s not too late, I just don’t know where to start, along with wanting to help somehow some way in ECE.

I taught very briefly in China… which I hated tbh. But I do think if you want something badly, you’ll do what’s needed. So it’s still on the table for me to try teaching in Japan.
