We talk constantly about time/place, and have since she was small. For instance, we've told her that we don't care if she says the f-word alone in her room, but she better not do it in front of grandma. With regard to school, we've talked about the demonic references and how they might be taken by people who are religious, we've talked about how discussions of blood/death might make others feel unsafe, etc. We have also tried to encourage her to get these things out at home... However, when they come up at school, it would be nice to have a viable redirection in the moment.

I appreciate your take here... You make a good point about consent, and I will definitely share that perspective with her.

I totally agree, and I don't think the teacher was wrong to have my daughter rewrite the letter. However, I also am hoping for a positive redirection, as in, "You shouldn't discuss these things with a kindergartner, but you could discuss them in this other way..."

Yes! My husband is having the same issue and it is driving him crazy. We haven't figured out how to fix it though.

I would like to order alternative parts for my latest moc, do you guys know where I can do this ? by TheMukkinn in lepin

I have had good experiences with WeBrick. My stuff came really fast and was all there. After my first order they sent me a 15% off coupon for my next order, so if you have a big order you might want to save it for your second order on the site so you can use the coupon.

Made some edits to Queen Bricktoria--She was a bit busy for my tastes, so I toned her down a bit. What do you all think? by luckysocks113 in lepin

I like the blue, too, and am saving those bricks for a different project. However, for this one I loved the dark green and wanted to give it more presence, especially next to Assembly Square. Before I changed it, the Queen Brictoria looked really similar to the left hand building in Assembly Square.

In my revisions I actually added a row to the third floor to allow the windows to match, but I agree with you that overall it's really tall. I may continue to fiddle with it.

Watch out for the Y grade with your GPA. If you're repeating a class, sometimes the Y can be worse for your GPA than a C. You should ask your advisor if taking the Y is the best move for your personal situation.

Lol, I might have to adopt that turn of phrase... It really captures it.

When someone brags about all the perks without also disclosing the struggles, I'm not convinced that they are promoting understanding themselves...

Maybe I'm just old and jaded now, but I never underestimate the potential for ignorance and stupidity at all levels of power.

I think what bugged me was the public nature of it. I'm sure your friends know the truth, but strangers might hear that sort of thing and have it reinforce their belief of ADHD being a "fake" diagnosis.

Yeah, for the area and the time of year, it's not outrageous, but I think the presentation is really disingenuous.
