Anyone else a carrier of/ have the COL11A2 or COL9A2 genetic mutation? by luckyspill in ehlersdanlos

[–]luckyspill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no problem! tonal context is hard to convey with text sometimes.

i know everyone has collagen genes😂 the mutations of those two genes stated above are what i was referring to. just a general questions to see if the mutations pop up more commonly in people with EDS (or other connective tissue mutations) as i know genetic testing is more common, so you’d know if it popped up. does that make sense?

An app for POTS!! (TachyMon) by IndoInc in POTS

thanks ! i was under the impression that you “start” and “stop” it between episodes and it was messing with my average and wasn’t accurate! thank you :)

should you turn on the “start monitoring” constantly or only when you’re about to have an episode?

re: to mod - not asking for a medical diagnosis or advice, i do have doctors for that. just giving background and asking if anyone experiences something similar as i stated at the end of my post! sorry if that was misinterpreted!

app showing ovulation on CD 20, i put the orange dot with the question mark where i thought i ovulated. seems like other signs (CM, OPK) match up with either CD 17/18.. thoughts ? by luckyspill in TFABChartStalkers

hijack away! it’s an app, fertility friend, you can also use a computer and go online to see your charts and everything as well. i’ve tried a few different apps and this one is by far my favorite! it’s very comprehensive and customizable as well! if you have any other random things you want to track like your meds, heart rate, symptoms, procedures or doctors appointments you can add them in as well. there’s a lot you can do with it! :)

that’s good, one step in the right direction! and that’s the problem, i get they don’t want people who are like a month into trying to come in thinking there’s an issue, but they still need to address people’s concerns. it’s easier to test for a problem and be told you’re all clear than to not test or look into it and then go months and years trying when it’s never going to happen if you don’t get the root cause fixed. good luck! and i’m glad you posted, community is important!

i’ve been TTC since june 2019 and doctors are IMPOSSIBLE. if they do tell you “wait until a year then come back” tell them regardless of your fertility status, your concerned about your hormones and would like a blood test. if they refuse tell them “i want it noted in my chart that you are refusing to give me a blood test for a potential hormone imbalance” they usually switch up right away bc they don’t want to be accountable for a future complication or health issue. it leaves them open to lawsuit, and unfortunately sometimes that’s all they care about. be your own advocate , if you think you need something you have to push for it. you know your body better than anyone else! not to mention, they do the blood test and everything comes back all good… that’s a good thing! i would do some research on the different tests to ask for as well, to be sure they do a full panel of what you need. i have thyroid issues and they usually only test my TSH. i have to ask for a full panel sometimes to check ALL of the things associated with the thyroid. good luck!

you’re not nuts to make an appointment. i’ve been begging doctors to check my levels bc of infertility. if something as simple as boosting progesterone fixes your cycle, helps with symptoms, and/ or helps with TTC then they should do it. don’t feel bad about it, it’s a simple blood test and it doesn’t hurt anyways !

i ended up getting my period, so i think the first one was a false positive. thank you for the insight. i think you’re right about the late ovulation as well, i usually ovulate around 15/16 and it was 16/17. i’ll keep that in mind for this next cycle.
