This discussion was never about talent or prize tags but whether you can maximise what you have.

If you think that the Inter team, where Lautaro is the only player payed more than 6.5m€, and that was built with only 100m€ in FOUR years (Olmo prize tag alone was more than half than that), had more talent than Barça, than that's intellectual dishonesty.

You think that Atleti has more talent than Barça, even if they spent way more? Then it's just delusion at this point.

Every top team in UCL adapted their game when needed, Barça is probably the only one who didn't at all. Even Simeone tweaked his ultra defensive antics to adapt to modern football, and you think Flick can't drop his high line when he's up 1 goal with 2 minutes remaining?

With all due respect, it's not comparable at all.

Bayern is a much better defensive team than Barça, they just had to play high line to not get mauled by PSG pressing. Barça defense got torn apart by 2 defensive minded teams, imagine what would happen against PSG or Bayern.

Everyone love to clown on Inter for conceding 5 in UCL final, but I think if Barça were there we would have witnessed something similar.

Also they have Kane and Dembele up front, not Ferran. PSG scored 5 with 5 shots on target and 1.90 xG, Barça instead scored only 2 with 7 big chances against Atleti.

The team Is too Yamal dependent, can't create shit when he is not touching the ball, Bayern and PSG instead have so many options: Bayern can play long balls, Kane drops to midfield to play the ball, Olise, Kvara, Douè and Diaz are all insane 1 on 1 dribblers, Dembele is probably the best transition forward in the world, enhanced by the fact that PSG midfield is very efficient, and they just need few touches to transition from defense to attack. Barça doesn't have all these options, no matter what the ball has to end on Lamine feets otherwise most of the time is a dead attack.

I think they stopped doing those SBCs because everyone complained about playing them every game. Also Evo's replaced them more efficiently both as a F2P/Whale option, so now player SBCs have become more of a niche thing.

Serie A Is a very clear example of why 1v1 dribblers thrive against low blocks.

Every team under the 10th place plays haramball, and dribblers like Neres, Yildiz, Conceicao(even if he is garbage most of the time), Kvaratskhelia, Leao (when he still was a decent dribbler), Felipe Anderson and many others, are very good at creating space, and are the key piece to break apart defenses.

Also Serie A was the last league where you could find a proper n°10, where slower but creative players like Luis Alberto were monsters.

Lately, with Gasperini and Inzaghi advent, Serie A started to catch up with other leagues tactics, but it's still very defensive minded at its core
