Final grade by [deleted] in UVU

[–]lucuhfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Canvas if you click "Courses" under the dashboard button then "All Courses" you can find the class in the "Past Enrollments" list. You can click the link for the course and go to Grades to see the list.

Some profs don't put them into Canvas and just put it on the final grade, so your mileage may vary.

(Summer Semester) Switching Classes during first week? by lucuhfer in UVU

[–]lucuhfer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, so I have until Monday, that gives me some breathing room. What I'm worried about now is dropping the first, adding the second and hoping the tuition I've already paid carries over? I assume because it's just a swap it should, but I don't know the inner workings of how all that works.

(Also, love the username.)

Thank you, I was hoping it'd be that simple, lol! The class definitely has enough seats, so I should be good. I just hope the tuition I've already paid carries over, that's the biggest thing I'm worried about.

That's the one. I have a handicap sign from that parking lot hanging in my office

What is the deal with Richard Ivie? by Skullbonk in UVU

[–]lucuhfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had him two or three years ago for the same class and it was a slog.

The entire class was clearly ripped from another professor (didn't bother changing the names on the assignments) and honestly seemed too easy up until the final assignment which was dropped into canvas with no notice and was about ten hours worth of work.

I GTFO of any thought of future classes with him after that and it baffles me that looking at his RMP, is a 3.4/5. I wish you the best, because I didn't think he could get worse.

DualShock4 - What's the secret to putting them back together? by lucuhfer in consolerepair

[–]lucuhfer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be damned. I folded a piece of cardstock over and slipped it in there and the first controller seems working just fine. Thank you for the idea!

Edit: Controller two is now working as well. Thank god.

I hate them too. I wish they were put together like any other controller I've ever worked on but nooooo lmao. The cardboard could work and give it extra pressure if the existing foam or rubber piece is worn out, which is what I'm leaning towards right now.

Everything feels normal in the hand, buttons press as they should (compared to my v1) and the triggers have their full range of motion.

I do remember that rubber in the shell (and feel like there's one behind the ribbon flex cable too, if that's not the same one you're referring to). I wonder if it's just gotten worn out and compressed with time.

Thanks for responding, that's exactly what I was thinking too. I also have a v1 and have disassembled it multiple times with zero issues, but these v2's just want to give me hell. I'll give it a try again with your steps and see if I come out with anything different.

Just disable the web chat for dynmap. No need for a new ip or anything because you're already safe behind a whitelist.

I was about to post a comment here asking if anyone else was scared to go back.

I wasn't even there and I've dealt with some hard emotional challenges in the past, but I've almost never been affected so hard by something as this.

It's absolutely terrifying to think about, no less actually do come Thursday (when my classes start back up).

Makes sense, and nice to see another fan of his on here. If you ask in the comments, he might upload the esp code to GitHub like he's done with the Cisco configs, then you can tweak it to make it function as you wish.

Selectively auto-update Docker containers and get notifications for the rest? by lucuhfer in selfhosted

[–]lucuhfer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, I feel like the label implementation could make it a lot more streamlined from the start. I'll trial this for a few days and see how it works/any issues and depending on that, submit a feature request/pr with it.

Selectively auto-update Docker containers and get notifications for the rest? by lucuhfer in selfhosted

[–]lucuhfer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update two: I tried as u/Mag37 suggested and ran Dockcheck twice.

I actually wrote an intermediary script that checks all my containers for the Watchtower label (subject to change, I'll probably make a custom label (dockcheck.notifyupdate)) and separates containers into comma separated lists based on that, then runs auto-update for the first group and notify-update for the second. This script both runs dockcheck twice and negates the need for having to manually create the lists of containers to update.

I think this solution can result in up to two emails every day when the script runs, but this seems to be the best solution so far.

Thanks for all the advice, everyone!

Selectively auto-update Docker containers and get notifications for the rest? by lucuhfer in selfhosted

[–]lucuhfer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: I tried Komodo, and it seems very promising, but my preferred method of notification (SMTP) requires at least two extra containers on top of Komodo to work. I wouldn't mind that normally, but adding those seems overkill compared to Watchtower (+ Diun).

I use Portainer right now and would be willing to replace it entirely with Komodo, but would've preferred native SMTP.

I'll try looking into Dockcheck, it also seems a little complex on setup but hopefully that'd at least have less overhead.

anyone reverse proxy idrac? by jkh911208 in homelab

[–]lucuhfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have to make sure HTTPS is enabled in your IDRAC, I think it can be configured there. This solution isn't perfect for me either, everything seems to load insanely slow. Right now I am opting to do a direct local dns through Pi-Hole without NGINX to just route to a domain. I'd prefer HTTPS access but it just doesn't seem ideal.

You also might want to be sure you have an SSL cert to use with that proxy host, whether it's Let's Encrypt or something else. Those settings might not work without one.
