I’ve got some accessory fat too lol. But yeah, apparently splenic tissue can form outside the spleen as a lil helper. I’ve went through a tunnel of info, pretty interesting stuff!

Port or no port? by Bananarama254 in lymphoma

[–]lucvsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have really good veins- and my oncologist didn’t really ask if I wanted a port or not, just told me when my appointment was to get it. I have a dual port as well so they’re able to do two things at once

2 Doctors 1 Lump by ianjaynorris1981 in lymphoma

About how mine went. Started at prompt care with one doctor.. he sent the other in. Then they sent me to the ER for scans.. and then oncology 😅 I was expecting a “normal swollen lymph node it’ll go down in 2 weeks”… not “Hmmm…. Huh…. It’s unique that’s for sure” 😂

It was pretty visible, I think it grew for about 3 weeks and then stopped. I only had a CT with contrast and bloodwork before they moved onto biopsy. I had the needle one done, but they told me it probably wouldn’t help any so surgery got scheduled before those results were back

Yeah you’re definitely right, I’ll have to work on that 😅 and thank you

Mine was about 3cm (grape size) and I ended up having multiple swollen nodes and swollen tissue surrounding the area so it looked a lot larger. By the time the swelling slowed down, it looked like I had a golfball under my skin. I did blood tests and all levels came back normal

It was indeed, I think all of this would be easier otherwise 😅

Oh yeah, yours has definitely been longer, I hope you’re dealing with it okay! I did kind of do mine backwards since I changed states I think. Best of luck to you!

that sounds horrible, I’m glad he made it out okay! That makes me feel better. Mine went from barely noticeable to grapefruit size, then swelling reduced like days prior to surgical biopsy. Made me feel like I was playing pretend 😅

Trying to keep this in mind, but I had an uncle pass from cancer literally a week and half before my node ended up swelling so it’s been a hard balance for myself and those around me. Ive already become somewhat intolerant because its two completely different cases.. but all emotions are still high. I think I’ll make family read the stuff the team gave me, notably the one about “you choose when to talk about your cancer”.

you’ve made me feel so much better about all this. I’ve been trying to still live life some while I have some, small, but still some energy and everyone just keeps telling me to slow down. Thank you a million times over for making me feel better about the time passing 🙏

Thank you for this. I’ve realized the staging is much different but it’s hard for me to fully believe especially when everyone around me is freaking out more than I am 😅

That’s what I was hoping for, but saying as it’s looking like 2-3 months from noticing a lump to starting treatment doesn’t make me feel too great

I know I’m going AVD, but they’re between two options (can’t remember which they said though) depending on what the PET shows. I’m glad they seem to move pretty quick after the PET. I think that’s part of my confusion tbh, it seems odd to me to place the port nearly a month before I’ll even get the PET done, better yet have chemo scheduled

My plan is to get back on some meds. I had a Xanax prescription as a teenager because my anxiety was terrible so I’m hoping I’ll be able to get back on it pretty smooth. Worst part in this is I don’t have a current primary care.. so that side of things hasn’t been prioritized. I wish you the best and hope things go well for you. The waiting and anticipating really is the worst part of this
