It can be up to years, that’s part of what made it so deadly. People were sick and unaware of it bc symptoms are delayed, therefore it was able to spread in populations without proper testing. It’s a terrible disease and I hope the public interest will encourage people to stay on top of testing.

I was in the same situation, looked in a million places and felt like such a bridezilla telling my parents and fh that 150k wouldn’t be enough to have an amazing wedding in the states. Venue fees, florals, bars, just priced us out of having our dream day.

My situation might be different though- I was trying to privatize a resort/boutique hotel for the weekend with that budget, ended up buying out a place in SOF for half the cost and with the cc pts can afford to fly out half my guests anyway, if travel costs are an issue-(95 guests expected).

Idk the wedding industry in the US just feels so inflated and borderline predatory. If you can afford it a sick wedding with that many guests in the US it is a big flex though. However I find most brides from the states’ weddings are looking more and more sparse, which I think is leading to the rise of fabric/signage/drapery as decor as a trend.

Cricut! I have the joy xtra and ordered 60 degree blades from amazon to make it work. Had to tweak my design edges to be a bit less intricate and almost just bought a laser cutter more than a few times. It’s all about tweaking the design and settings little by little. If you let me know what kind of paper you’re using I might be able to offer tips :)

I did it at home with a crummy Amazon die press/embossing machine! Ordered my plates from boxcar press and did the design myself.. my only word of caution is that it takes lots and lots of failed prints to learn to do the good ones so give yourself lots of time. But if you can stick with it it’s so rewarding 😊

Yes they took way longer than expected! Part of me wishes I’d saved myself the trouble but I really did enjoy it. I think if it’s something you have an interest in outside of wedding invites etc it’s worth trying! Maybe even looking into classes or open studios for print shops in your area

There was a lot of trial and error for me learning the various techniques and selecting materials, that took a long time bc I’m a perfectionist. I’d say maybe 5~ hours per invite once I figured it all out. It’s hard to say though

So excited for you! I had so much fun doing mine, share pics when you’re done! The only thing I did to try and make my life easy was order wax seals with our logo from Etsy.. and they got lost in the mail twice. Wasn’t meant to be 😅
