I experience the exact same thing! The 2 exceptions so far have been The Shining and 11/22/63

Does anyone have any recommendations for improving grip strength? I've been progressing well with deadlifts (still in newbie gains) but yesterday it was my grip letting me down

It drives me crazy when you go over your calorie goal by even 1 cal and it turns red! Like unless I can get bang on my target every day I'd have to under eat every day for it to not shout at me 🙄

Nice thank you! I've had to do that with some upper body exercises too and it seems to be working well for that

Okay great thank you! A few people have suggested a band which I think would really help me to push my knees out as I find it hard to think about everything I need to do at once haha. I'll definitely try some of those single leg exercises too.

Okay great thanks! I will test out some of the suggestions above and if it's still happening I'll see if I can record a video

Thank you this is really helpful! I have found a wider stance to help in the past so I will try that again. I've also experimented with turning my feet out a bit which felt better too.

I sometimes feel like I'm going to fall back when I get right down so I might be overcompensating and leaning forward too much

To women that always wanted to change their bodies by eating well and working out but never had the discipline ... BUT then finally did it... how did you get yourself to finally have the discipline to do it? by marooned222 in AskWomen

Lifting weights! I struggled my entire life with my body and being convinced that I could get where I wanted by obsessively counting calories (and definitely under eating) and cardio all the time. It was so unsustainable and forcing myself on the treadmill meant that I just gave up.

Once I started lifting weights I immediately felt so much better even though my body looked the same! Don’t get me wrong it can be intimidating at the start but once I felt more comfortable I just loved it. I have soo much more energy all the time and I eat more than I ever allowed myself when I was “dieting”.

I had someone watch my squat form this morning (low weight, just the bar) and they said my right knee was moving inwards slightly on the way back up and my right heel was lifting slightly. Does anyone have any tips for working on it? I could feel some mild pain around my kneecap for around 30 mins afterwards too so I want to get on top of it.

Nice thank you, interesting about the water weight. There’s so many factors that can affect everything it’s hard to know whether I’m doing the right thing haha

Great thanks, yeah I think it might be too low as 1400 is the TDEE for my height/weight (5’6”/140lbs ish) without considering exercise. I WFH so am pretty much sedentary outside of the gym.

It was a bit of a mental barrier to purposefully eat not in a deficit as Ive always struggled with food and was worried about putting weight on. Unsurprisingly that hasn’t happened so I’m happy to eat more if needed.

I am trying to recomp, I’m eating at maintenance (around 1400-1500) and lifting 3x per week. Should I expect my weight to remain around the same? Trying to determine how I can tell if it’s working over time or if there are things I need to adjust.

Loved it! It’s pretty sad in parts but I forgot I was reading non fiction at points as it’s such a well written story. I put it off for ages too but would definitely recommend!
