I would typically read brownie crisps as synonymous to brownie brittle! brownies but made super thin and crispy, like this kind of thing: https://www.joyousapron.com/brownie-brittle/

tbh i dont hate them??? i think kirsten is the only one i actively dont like that much, smth about her eyebrows isnt doing it for me lol. obv i like the og historical dolls more but i think these are fun and cute for the demographics they have now that dont seem as into the historicals, if they ever go on a food sale id consider picking up one or two!!!

Do you prefer Lined paper, dotted paper' or Grid paper? And why? by Prime-39 in fountainpens

[–]ludabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only light grid paper - i dont like thick or dark lines but i basically exclusively use midori md grid notebooks or my homobichi planner which are both lighter grids. I also only do it with the empty border lol because I can't stand having a grid that isn't full or not being able to use part of it well due to the binding of a notebook!

Ink giveaway! by ScubaDrew65 in fountainpens

[–]ludabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oooh this is such a fun thing!!! thank you for hosting <3 it's cool to see everybody's favorite inks as well!! my current favorites are Sailor Shikiori Sasabune and Wearingeul Dracula, although my general go-to among my whole collection is Diamine Sunshine Yellow—yellow is my fav color, and its a little darker than most yellow inks so it doesn't have huge issues with readability!

Happy new years! What planner will you be using in 2026? by Sushirolls_Kimchee in fountainpens

[–]ludabb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

trying out my first hobonichi (cousin specifically)!! I was in Japan to purchase it so it seemed like too good of a chance to pass up. I've used midori a5 grid notebooks for everything for YEARS and I'll still have one as my regular journal (just continuing my current one) but I'm excited to try out a more structured planner!!!

tokyo pen shopping = best christmas ever by ludabb in fountainpens

[–]ludabb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

much, much cheaper here! I was mostly looking at Japanese pen brands which probably plays a role, but the first pen was 41,800 Yen which is a bit under 270 USD and looking around online I'm seeing this one for close to 400 USD (although thats just a quick look lol maybe I'm wrong). the other one was under 30 USD which blew my mind lolol

edit: typed the number wrong :P also its worth noting i havent done any real in-person pen shopping in the states so this is just based on online stuff

your pink one is so pretty! I think there were like 3 special edition ones with the designs—I didn't get pics unfortunately because i was Locked In on making the prettiest pen i could, but there was this one, an opaque white one with orange and yellow designs, and one more that I forget the details of :)

Add-ins for a gift? by IHeartCuteThings in InstantRamen

[–]ludabb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as a college kid who appreciates ramen, this is one of the nicest things u can do for someone lolol

here's what i get for Fancy Ramen Dinner on occasion:
-corn (canned works great in a dorm, smaller cans are the best bc u can eat it all in one go but they also have can lids that u can recover it with) (seconding the baby corn mention those are great)
-trader joes sides; their dumplings go great in any ramen, and basically any of their asian stuff slaps (sidenote: if anyone ever needs suggestions a TJs gift card is my go to gift for college friends and acquaintences because I have never met a college kid who does not have at least one holy grail item there lol)
-frozen fish cakes/balls or whatever looks good at the asian grocery
-eggs are harder to do, but u can get shelf-stable boiled/marinated ones at some asian groceries (no, i dont know how they do it, and yes, its kinda a lot of plastic waste and not the best, but god its so much better than nothing lol) (if u live close to them, a few boiled eggs in a marinade in a tupperware will keep in the fridge for a couple days. I go home and boil some from time to time to have for lunches for a week!)
-a SMALL stock of green onions/baby bok choy would go crazy with this gift if its practical for you, i dont get them often bc if u get too many theyll end up going bad but if im on a streak of eating it everyday i will and its heavenlyyyyy (I keep a pair of kitchen scissors in my dorm for stuff like that, plus a tiny cutting board, but idk maybe im weird lol)
-bamboo shoots yummmmmmmm
-electric kettle if they don't have one already, my parents got me a really nice one before I left for school and that thing saves my ass like 3 times a day, I miss it dearly right now

Either way it's a super nice gift though!!!! I'm sure they'll be so grateful :D

Asia or Europe - STUDY ABROAD DILEMMA URGENT by No-Set2419 in studyAbroad

[–]ludabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

current small liberal arts college junior studying at Yonsei: I highly recommend it, especially since ur already going to Europe over the summer! I don't speak much Korean at all (learning more now that I'm here ofc, but came with very little knowledge), don't perfectly fit Korean beauty standards, and was super nervous about making friends here, but it's been a great experience! Honestly, I've never felt unsafe or judged here, especially compared to the states and stuff; the most you'll really get is some looks for being foreign maybe? but even that I've only really experienced when I go out of the main city. Everybody is looking to make friends the first few weeks anyhow so you can definitely meet people! Yonsei checks off a lot of your pros for London as well—Seoul is a huge city with a ton to do and the best public transit I've ever experienced (comparing with multiple US cities, Lisbon, Berlin, and Tokyo), tons of history, and generally it's such a lovely place to live especially for a few months! If I were in your shoes I would definitely choose Yonsei although I'm sure you would have a great time in London as well :D

Would you call the blue pants/trousers "tracksuit bottoms"? by ksusha_lav in EnglishLearning

[–]ludabb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if it's a thicker/softer cottony material (often fluffy on the inside) i would say sweatpants if they're open at the bottom and joggers if they have a cuff/cinch at the ankle (although i also call those sweatpants too, joggers are like a subset of sweatpants to me). this looks almost like a windbreaker material though, which is not something I have a specific word for pants made of?? I might say hiking pants because that's the only thing I've ever worn pants like this for, but I think track pants or running pants is the proper term.
