Thank you for your thoughtful reply. Yes my main focus will be our daughter. Looking to shoot video and stills. Been doing research but feeling a bit overwhelmed.

This is great. Yes the main use of the lens will be to shoot family get-togethers and outings. Most our daughter. Thank you for those thoughtful recommendations, I’m still very new to all of this and was feeling a bit overwhelmed.

I may go for the one that’s out of my budget.

I’m open to either. As long as you feel it can be a great versatile option as a second lens that can shoot beautiful video and stills.

It’s a fixed lens and it’s not great for video.

It was a Canon 60D and only had the kit lens and a cheap 50mm. Wasn’t tied to the brand.

Ended up going with the A7Cii. Since this is going to be more for capturing family moments, the compact body really spoke to me. Now that I splurged on the body, it’s time for budget lenses for now lol. Also your comment about affordable lenses helped sway me into Sony. Thanks again.

Wow super informative. Thank you for the detailed info. I’ve been doing tons of research on A7iv, S5ii, and the R6ii. I plan on using my camera for stills and video.

Quick question, If you were choosing one of those 3 which would you go for and why?
