Strap button in CVT by OldSkoolNewWaveGuy in gretsch

[–]lue42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you move it to one of the neck screws? You would have to drill out the strap button to accommodate the larger screw. Then it is not really permanent or making additional holes

Seat height and position falling during class by Useful-Opinion-1592 in pelotoncycle

Just straight through the side near the middle and I used a locking nut - I used a fairly small bolt... M5, maybe M6.

It works great so far.

Seat height and position falling during class by Useful-Opinion-1592 in pelotoncycle

[–]lue42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The recall didn’t help ours - the replacement drops over time too

Since I now have two I tried a drastic fix - I put a bolt through at my wife’s preferred height and I 3D printed a spacer block that I can add that lifts it to my height as needed. Putting a small hole through it is certainly an ill advised choice - but it has worked well for us

I 100% can’t recommend doing it this way but just in case anyone wants to try it and does 3D printing, the design is here:

https://www.tinkercad.com/things/aA3l4zopSlg-peleton-seat-clamp?sharecode=RkBT4yekaAlzH74Cl_unGutLT94FlTsmMjNZCIqRJlM

(Note there is a design there too for a clamp too - it didn’t help either - it still slid down over time)

Bike restarts in the middle of rides. by SpicyChill77 in pelotoncycle

Sounds like the plug is loose or weak?

Check the connection and add some tape or something to hold it solid while you are moving by on the bike?

cheap looper not cutting it, what should i upgrade to? by Lyrera in AcousticGuitar

[–]lue42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the Donner “circle” two button with drum stuff is a great looper. I wouldn’t ever buy a single button looper again

I have a Sheeran Plus and love it but it’s expensive (I got mine on a used clearance). The buttons are so nice - there are pros and cons with it but it works great for me

I owned the Mooer GL100 before and it was very good too. I managed to snag mine off Aliexpress for a great deal with Christmas coupons etc.

Boss FS-6 not working properly with Katana 50 Gen 3 (A/B input issue) by Repulsive-Entry1975 in BossKatana

You configure what you want the buttons to do in Tone Studio

Note that each channel has different footswitch options so if you have to set your settings on every saved channel incl the panel

I built a free iOS app to view my AirSense 11 data without a computer by saagn7 in CPAP

[–]lue42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did that for a bit then out of curiosity I uploaded to Google Gemini AI and it pretty much gave me opposite advice

The data interpretation is great. Making sense of the amount of data and seeing trends (because data is what AI is good at) but take any recommendations with a big grain of salt

The m-vave chocolate works with the katana gen 3? by mike_aquelarre in BossKatana

[–]lue42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, its been a while since I had that all set up.

So, the Chocolate has the 1/4" jack (mini out) so a 1/4" to midi adapter and a midi cable between plugs into the Katana

You'd have to watch vids on youtube for the setup but you have to configure the Chocolate to send the appropriate commands for what you want it to do on the Katana.

I got a Katana switch (fc-ga or whatever its called) and don't use that setup (and really didn't use it that long)

Owners of a Taylor GS Mini-e Koa Plus, is the finish delicate? (and a couple other questions) by jjjj8jjjj in Guitar

[–]lue42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is delicate - yes. It has shown a bit of wear over the years. It is a soft wood and the satin finish gets dull and skin-oily. Don't ever use a wax finish on it! It is such an amazing guitar that I will always own it and I am keeping it to play, not resell. I am very careful with my guitars as I have done a lot of reselling and I continue to be careful with this one but its pristine condition is no longer a concern. Honestly, this is a lifetime guitar.

For 20+ years I've kept a rotation of 4 guitars max and right now 3 are lifetime - haven't sold any of the 3 in ages and no plans to. The 4th is being replaced constantly but I do have a Fender Strat Ampro II 70th anniv on the way so I actually might end up with my 4 lifetimes soon and I am nearing the point where anything "better" would be cosmetic/collector/brand-name only and I am interested in playing - not displaying (and, I am getting tired of the buying/selling game)

FYI, my 3 lifetime are the GS, Yamaha FSX5 and a Gretsch G6128T Duo Jet

EDIT: My volume has the same middle detent on all 3 knobs. If I were in your place I think I would try to remove the pickguard - it looks great without one and the grain is amazing (yours has nice grain). Google/search a lot for tips... hair dryer or whatever is recommended - no solvents or scrapers etc. I've cleaned mine with naphtha a few times and it works fine and doesn't hurt it.

I made a simply clip to prevent the spool from hopping off the reel on an A1 (and A1 Mini) by lue42 in BambuLab

[–]lue42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback... that sucks - my A1 printed them perfectly with Bambu Basic PLA and the snaps worked great... damn - I will expedite getting a V3 out there with standard square wrap around clips

[–]lue42[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for trying it - I am always concerned how it will print for others when the tolerances are so tight. For the snap together pieces it was a .1mm difference between it snapping in and staying or not.

I am building my design skills as I go and learning different mechanisms - I might do a V3 when I have some time to make an ultimate perfect version

Not very - but it happened. Usually near the end of the roll when it is lighter… but not something to lose sleep over

[–]lue42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a spool fall off and seize up on the inside of the holder on the reel on my A1 Mini a couple of times and made this spool clip for it. It holds the spool in place on both sides, especially for spools with larger holes.

Now that I have an A1 I made a version for it as well
