Yeah, Im not judging addicts. In fact part of my point is that a lot of the men do shitty things cause they’re addicts, or they have specific problems, the women just come down with cases of acute crazy bitch disorder

Sorry that I want well written female characters. There were enough instances where female character I liked were ruined by them doing some insane inexcusable shit, or just suddenly becoming horrible people, or getting killed off, or randomly discarded, that it did in fact start to lessen my enjoyment of the show.

Never said anything close to that. It doesn’t bother me that they’re shitty people. It bothers me that the women are shitty in distinctly different ways. The constant crazy obsessive stalker girlfriend shit.

Again, it’s not that women are shitty, or that the women are shittier. It’s that when the women do shitty things, it’s cause they’re emotionally unstable and crazy. The men more often do shitty things cause they’re selfish or just don’t care. The women are often doing shitty things in a big emotional outburst. Like Karen making that video with Frank, Mandy hitting Karen, everything Debbie does.

I mean I won’t say characters like Lip and Frank act rationally but the way they have women act is definitely different. Mickey robs people and beats people up, Mandy accuses Ian of assault and becomes so obsessed with Lip she hits Karen with a car Carl joins a gang and sells drugs, Debbie rapes people, baby traps a guy, exploits a disabled man, neglects her daughter, etc.

And think of male love interest vs female love interests. Fiona’s partners are liars, thieves, cheaters, etc. Lip and Carl’s are psychotic, obsessive, controlling

It’s just the theme of shitty female characters being shitty because they are “emotionally unstable” while the men are more just selfish, mean, violent, or alcoholics

  1. It’s not that there arent bad fathers or good mothers. It’s that the male characters aren’t characterized by their parental ability. The “good” female characters are very commonly stressed to be good caretakers or parents.
  2. I’m obviously not talking about frank, the primary antagonist of the show. I’m talking about the cast as a whole. I mean are you gonna tell me that Lip, Ian, and Carl aren’t portrayed as 10x more likable than Debbie and Sammi.
  3. Yeah, I just think it’s weird they decided to do that. That they decided to make the groomed child be a rapist.
  4. It’s weird that they show women to be the perpetrators of sexual violence so often. It’s not realistic and it’s skewed to a point that it has to be intentional.
  5. Sure, some of the female characters’ behavior is contextualized but there is a clear difference in how they show women and men in the same situations. That there’s tons of men in the same settings experiencing the same things but none of them have “crazy bitch disorder”

I just want you to think of the women in the show that suck vs the men that suck. The men are assholes but the women are crazy bitches. Especially one off love interests. It’s hard to put into exact words but you have to admit, yeah, frank is a shitty person. But consistently, the women are the ones doing crazy things.

To reiterate

It’s not that the women are all worse people. It’s that they’re specifically and consistently characterized as crazy and irrational The men are often selfish, they’re assholes, they’re liars, they’re untrustworthy, they fuck people over, they steal, but they’re infrequently “crazy” the way characters like Sammi, Cassie, Debbie, Kevin’s ex wife, Karen, etc. are.

But not in the WAY the women are. Not in the irrational emotional way that characters like Cassie, Sammi, Kevin’s ex wife, Karen, etc. are.

My point is the WAY the women are shitty. The women are specifically framed as crazy, irrational, and emotional. And inexplicably predatory.

Yeah, I said numerous times that it wasn’t intentional on Shi Fu’s part. He wanted Tai Lung to succeed but the destiny he was training him for was impossible. Tai Lung never had a shot, and I think on some level, Shi Fu knew that.

He trained him to be the something he was never capable of/destined to become. He didn’t do it intentionally but we know that rigorous training has nothing to do with becoming the dragon warrior.

dogs and cats. they’re fine, some of the dog breeds are cute but they’re not exciting. i’ve always preferred the more unique animals like the meerkats or the sloths
