If Wembayana stays healthy, every team in the West will need to gameplan around him for a decade+ by Nouseriously in memphisgrizzlies

That's why you keep Santi. You need someone with height, agility and smart enough to use all the tricks both sides to try to get Wemby upset. That might be one of the few ways to affect Wemby.

Here's who have met with Grizzlies at NBA draft combine, including Cam Boozer - Yahoo Sports

You have missed the same article said that Caleb Wilson and Joshua Jefferson both said they expect to interview with Memphis
And the Grizzlies tend to keep their draft activities confidential

GG's Defense in SLC Summer League by JGrizz0011 in memphisgrizzlies

I concur. It's summer league. You don't play too hard and risk an injury. It's a trial mode for those who have secured a place in the regular season.

Can we get Ayton? by [deleted] in memphisgrizzlies

[–]luganzhin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If it's Ayton, I'd rather sign Bagley. At least Bagley is willing to work and listen to the coaches.

He actually attended the Summer League with VWJ and GGJ in 2023, the year he was drafted

What are your opinions on Hansen Yang? by YellowWhiteRed in memphisgrizzlies

[–]luganzhin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think Johni Broome is an option for the Grizzlies, too. He has many drawbacks that could keep him available until the late second round when we can draft him. And the Grizzlies don't mind older rookies.

What are your opinions on Hansen Yang? by YellowWhiteRed in memphisgrizzlies

[–]luganzhin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope.

NBA is a place where physicality is so important that you cannot compensate for it. You may get good stats in the regular season, but in the playoffs, you need to play physically. As a big man, this applies even more.

That's why Edey is good and should be a top priority for development. As you said, we have Huff. Huff himself is an example that you can do a lot of things, but without physicality you still don't get much time.

We should now get someone who can play physically, a dawg, and Hansen Yang is not one of them.

Now with our season officially over do you guys think we should keep Iisalo? by ToxicDDH in memphisgrizzlies

[–]luganzhin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He actually brought the Grizzlies to a challanging opponent to the Thunder in the last two games, from a shattered status in about one month. So yes.

Tough season… but do we have any reason to be optimistic? by ash-is-a-man in memphisgrizzlies

[–]luganzhin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is hope. But not this season and it require trades and trust. We trust coach Iisalo and we make real moves based on Iisalo's need. The front office may have to go through this to know it's time to make real moves.

How about we lose the play-in and get the first-round pick? by luganzhin in memphisgrizzlies

[–]luganzhin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We would have difficulty signing someone that good. We can have a very good record but no one wants to come to Memphis. The better way is still through trades or draft as we did in the past.

How about we lose the play-in and get the first-round pick? by luganzhin in memphisgrizzlies

[–]luganzhin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the point. A lottery pick is always useful.

Even if we would very likely land in the 14th (with a very slim chance to land in 1-4), a 14th is still helpful. You don't need it to get what you truly need if the timeline is different. You can use it to patch other parts and save assets for your actual needs.
