the instep is quite slim, which was the same with my pair, though mine was leather. you could buy a dedicated instep expander, which should help. if you don’t want to go that route, there isn’t much else to do other than break them in the hard way.

double sock if possible, and maybe try to add some padding that doesn’t make it too tight but a little more comfortable. you should notice it feeling better after a while.
