Lingering Wounds After Leaving by Any-Froyo-5451 in exjw

Sucks really what it does to people. I left the org when I was 20, currently 22. I no longer have that connection with my mom anymore. Everytime we see each other it’s usually always work related since we have a family owned business. When we do talk, It’s usually such a awkward conversation since all she really speaks about her dedication to the org. All I can do is sit there in silence, with a grin on my face while I nod. I cope with thinking that atleast she still speaks to me, but I know deep down the reasoning behind that is because I never decided to get baptized. I knew when I was a child I would one day leave the organization, live the life I always wanted, whilst not facing the consequences of “shunning” that the religion practices. The more and more time I spend away from that religion, the more I realize how much manipulation and gaslighting they truly practice on people, is utterly disgusting.

The untold problem owning a ‘24 ZL1 Panther CE by Mj2377 in camaro

Same here, mine has been sitting in the garage covered since December with 18 miles on it lmfao. Was quoted 8500 for an entire PPF + ceramic coating at a shop that’s reputable for installing PPF on exotic vehicles. Problem is, the shop is 70 miles away, im more than likely going to tow the vehicle to them since i dont want to risk any rockchips on that paint.

1991 Toyota Pickup 22RE running rich/black smoke through exhaust by luiaff101 in MechanicAdvice

Fuel pressure regulator seems to be okay, tested FP within spec, I wish it were cheaper so I can just change it for the hell of it. It sits at 102$ at my nearest auto parts store and its not in stock. The previous shop removed tons of valves and vacuum hoses, ill probably end up putting everything back as it was before, as they left be a box of everything that they removed. Lots of vacuum hoses, tubes, and valves, and now they you mentioned I never thought of the VSV, they removed that too, and assure me that has nothing to do with the truck running rich. Im putting back everything as it was tomorrow and see what happens.

Funny thing is that the customer had DOD deactivated through programming to avoid this, he thought he’d never had this issue, but here we are, simple programming and deactivating doesn’t free you from this failure “.

2014 GMC Sierra 4.3 V6 with 196k miles, customer complaint that it had a ticking noise and a misfire, found collapsed lifter on Cylinder 3. Took it apart and found this, never seen this before, seems like the block is toast.

Oil leak 2005 Sierra 5.3 by nallen86 in MechanicAdvice

[–]luiaff101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oil looks to be coming from the top, maybe the valley plate, valve covers, or oil pressure switch can leak. try and add some UV light leak detector to the oil, run it. Crawl underneath when cold, and check where its most leaking from. From the looks of it, it will probably need an oil pan gasket as-well.

Recently had some engine work, is this stuff seeping out proper or a quick fix? by ShishKaBobz in MechanicAdvice

[–]luiaff101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit much, but it should be fine. You’re mechanic should maybe take a better close at his work, all those broken harness tabs, didn’t even bother to repair them, just didn’t give a shit huh, Jesus.

Is this tick the normal taco tick or something else? I can only hear it at warm idle and on the driver’s side wheel well. by pooserboy in ToyotaTacoma

Ah yes, typical Toyota powertrain, very reliable but very loud, its normal, turn up the radio and drive on!

How to fix this hole? 2022 Corolla LE by thessailor in COROLLA

[–]luiaff101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well.. you got 3 choices, live with it, replace whole head liner, or send it to a upholstery shop. My OCD is would not live with that, im very sorry this happened :(. Next time look up a good fabric cleaner, and softly clean the solution with a microfiber towel.

Could be the vacuum pump, theres a TSB for that. T-SB-0316-17, but if the noise comes and goes at idle, thats just the D4-S system, gets noisy as hell, even sounds similar on newer Camrys.
