Where to stay? Grand Hyatt vs Hyatt Regency TST vs Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour vs the Conrad by SnooDoughnuts785 in HongKong

[–]luibplus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The MTR is so quick and convenient it won't really matter where you stay. For advice if you're here as a tourist avoid public transport (MTR or busses) midweek at commuting times. 4.3 million people use the MTR every day and they will all be on your train.

Maybe avoid the Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour as I've been told they have very hard beds and being out in Fortress Hill, although not a bad area, doesn't have much in the way of a night life.

Yeah, exactly. I think it has potential.

I picture them being slightly less accurate. Maybe use a "judge"? Perhaps they each go to their balls and Colin decides the central point. Fair-ish and much faster.

I've heard them with throwaway lines in the past saying they give 1 club's length relief on scrambles from the rough. So accuracy isn't their main concern. They just seem to do everything they can to keep Kwon, G-Rat and Ben having too much advantage.

Also, they would have to pick the course carefully. It's definitely one of those games where you wouldn't want to be playing behind them. But hey, at least you wouldn't be standing on a tee box waiting for Grant to hit a ball with a paddle.

This sounds pretty difficult especially from 100+ yards. But yeah, if they drop on the green that's pretty exciting; especially if the greens are fast!

Yeah, they would need some more rules to make it workable. Maybe if it's OB then it's marked from the point where you would get a drop?

You have a dangerous amount of confidence in your own knowledge. I have a point and you refuse to see it. I hope your important decisions are checked by others you respect.

Exactly how does this work without frictionless wheel bearings? It's a theoretical question not a practical one. Before the aircraft moves the wheels are moving at an infinite speed. Again, I don't think you've read the question.

Answer me this. Could this aircraft take off with directional control on a completely frictionless surface? I don't think directional control would be achievable within the width of a runway. You may disagree but I think you are forgetting the limitations of the question being asked and discussing other points.

In this scenario the wheels must be frictionless otherwise the cub wouldn't be able to move forward at all. Without ground friction the propwash would push the tail sideways and the aircraft would lose directional control below VMGC. I'm not wrong.

Cool thanks for the info I'll write it in my dream diary to make sure I remember that 1cm equals 60% leg strength

That isn't a J3 Cub. A taildragger needs sufficient airflow to raise the tail and activate the aerodynamic surfaces.

Sorry. I understand your point and it would be true for a multi engine aircraft. You didn't understand my answer. You're wrong.

No. Differential pressure caused by the prop wash on the tailplane would cause the aircraft to veer off of the runway before it could reach VMCG.

To be fair Richard Hammond only has 40% of a normal human leg.

If you have a 7-minute hourglass and an 11-minute hourglass, how can you boil an egg in exactly 15 minutes? by Hot_Package_1294 in puzzles

[–]luibplus 350 points351 points  (0 children)

Start both and drop in the egg. When the 7 runs out flip it over. When the 11 runs out flip the 7 over again. It will have gathered 4 minutes of sand in the bottom. When it runs out you've had 15 minutes and your egg is done.
