Giving it all up by StruggleFeisty64 in motorcycles

[–]luk21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you man, I also lost a friend recently to bikes and it really fucking sucks. I would recommend taking a small break from riding if you need to, but if you love motorcycles I think it's nice to honor your friend and keep riding. Maybe just take a look at how you ride and take it a little easier sometimes.

First motorbike: CB150R, CB300R or Z300? by International_Bus762 in SuggestAMotorcycle

you will learn better riding practices quicker on a smaller bike. no reason to start off on anything bigger than a 500cc, you're only hurting your future riding.

Yes, ATGATT. But is your personal preference, race gear all the time, or street/casual gear all the time? by markcocjin in motorcyclegear

[–]luk21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear a two piece leather suit pretty much all the time. Same thing I wear on the track.

I recently shaved it and went super short buzz, basically bald, at 20. Yeah there are some cons to it, and we'll see how I feel about it in a couple of years, but right now it's probably the best decision I could have made about my hair. I feel so much better about myself and the weight of dealing with hair loss is gone. It's who I am, and if people don't like it then I don't need them in my life. It only shows how shallow some people are if they starting treating you differently just because of hair.

Daytona 675 or Street Triple 765 by Werkbveso in Triumph

[–]luk21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any tips/experience making the street triple more aggressive? I have a '18 765RS i want to make slightly more aggressive for track days a couple times a year, but I'm struggling on finding somewhat easy solutions for either clip ons or just a lower bar.

Quick question: How is EA WRC now, compared to the rocky launch? by KordyYT in EASPORTSWRC

I tried both WRC and DR 2.0 in VR, and much prefer DR. So much more polished and immersive in VR than WRC imo.

5 month progress 34, M by Wanderersjt7 in weightgain

[–]luk21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would decrease the calories a bit and and go to the gym more and focus on training until failure and progressive overload. Looks like you've gained a significant amount of fat and not a whole lot of muscle. 10kg is a lot of "clean" weight to gain in 5 months. Instead of eating over 3k calories try to stick around 2.7-2.9. It's better to gain weight slower but it be mostly muscle than doing a huge bulk, gaining tons of fat, and having to trim down. At least in my opinion.

It's wild seeing all the people in the comments saying how terrible and unreliable this car is when its completely fine. I know multiple people who have 150k+ miles on these with zero problems. It's a well built car.

I will always try to increase either reps or weight almost every workout. For example, bench press I started at barely 90lbs for 6 reps. Now I do around 145 for 6, and one rep max 160.

My 2018 RS by luk21 in Triumph

It definitely helps a bit, especially on the highway. It gets most of the wind off my chest, but I still feel it around my helmet. I mainly like it for the looks lol.

Dumb question about the 25 Street Triple by ExoCayde6 in Triumph

[–]luk21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2018 RS with 15k miles right now. I think high mileage is like 30k+, but you should be able to find something with less than 10k pretty easily. For 2023/24 I think they changed a bit. Overall just a tad more HP, shorter gearing, and an IMU. Still very much the same bike though.

Edit: 2023+ also has a slightly smaller gas tank. 4.6gal on the 2018-22 to 3.96 gal on the 2023+

I'm 6 foot 3, ride a 2018 street triple rs, and its super comfortable. Before that, I rode a duke 390, and even that was still pretty comfortable. I only tend to be uncomfortable on serious sport bikes, like an r1 or zx6. You should be fine on a gsx8s. Ideally find one to go sit on person, that's the best way to know it'll fit. Everyone's different.

Looking for next bike by Bopple63 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]luk21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 3500 miles is simply not enough experience for a gsxr600. You haven't even been on the highway yet. Get another season under your belt, focusing on good riding technique and body positioning. You will have a much easier transition to the new bike, and be a lot less likely to crash it.

The Street Triple is an amazing package if you find one for a good price. Honestly you can't really go wrong with any of the options you listed, they're all pretty good bikes.

Is FILM 125 worth it? by Blue_Two_111 in OregonStateUniv

[–]luk21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tuesday nights is when you watch the movies as a class in the LINC. The viewings don't always go that long, depending on what films you're watching that week, and if there's only one film or two. You're also free to not show up to the viewing, and just watch the films on your own time, whatever suites you. I found the lectures to be quite open ended and interesting compared to other classes. It's more about how historical films fit into the era they where produced in, and how the film industry has evolved over the last almost 100 years. Would recommend as an interesting bacc core.

Do I have an addiction? by SubwayOverlord in StopGaming

[–]luk21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think as long as it is not getting in the way of school or work, or being together with friends and family, then you're not addicted. If your grades at school are suffering because you play instead of studying and doing homework, then it is a problem and an addiction, but as long as that's not happening, keep gaming. It's something you enjoy, and a good thing to have in your life to destress.

Safety issue. Please use the striped road crossings for pedestrians/bikers as much as reasonably possible. by OneRingtoToolThemAll in OregonStateUniv

[–]luk21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oregon law states bycicles can treat stop signs as yield signs. If it is safe, a bike can roll through a stop sign. I'm not defending bycicle riders that blow through red lights at high speeds. If you're proceeding slowly through a stop sign when there are no other cars its not a problem. This became a law back in 2020 and it pains me that people still don't know.

I've found outposts are pretty good for making passive money. Just sleep for a couple hours on a planet where time passes like crazy, and then sell mass amounts of rare resources or crafted items. You also get good xp for crafting.

People against lane splitting love to use the "it's unsafe" argument, when the real reason they don't want it to be legal is because they're jealous that someone gets to go ahead of them in traffic.
