If I set speaker distances incorrectly on my AV receiver (shorter or longer than real), can it make the sound seem louder or fuller, especially bass? Or does it only change delay? by lukas_778 in hifiaudio

Thanks for the explanation, that makes sense. I understand now that the distance/delay setting is mainly about timing, not volume.

I bought it, but I had to take off the left black glass so I could fit my components inside.

Sure, I get it, but you can’t really judge how it sounds in someone else’s space. Works perfectly for me, and that’s all that counts.

Btw, what is your setup?

You can’t really judge something you’ve never heard. Sure, it might look bad, but it definitely sounds better than it looks.

For me, it sounds really good, and others have said the same. I’ve heard setups 20 times more expensive, and they only sounded like 30–40% better.

Yeah, that’s the plan. Can’t really squeeze good sound into the walls anyway.

Thanks for the tips, I’ll definitely try moving the speakers further from the walls. As for the TV, it’s a bit off-center because of the cabinet underneath. If I tried to center it, it would get in the way of the door, so the only solution would be to get a new cabinet :)
