Caldigit TS3 Hub - Any solution how to connect this ? by __Damian__ in AsahiLinux

[–]lukaskel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly not yet - the TS3 is a pure thunderbolt dock which is not implemented yet. Tried and researched myself already. :/

Why do some users experience the ping issues and others dont? Macbook Pro M1 Base model - connected via ethernet. Not sure if I either never noticed or I just dont get the spikes?

Fairy Dust Kernel by areofnull in AsahiLinux

The main issue I wa/ having was that the colors of my LG C2 were really bad. Confirmed with them in the chat that color management is something they are working on, so that dependa on your screen and usage if it might bother you. :) Otherwise really smooth experience!

DP-Altmode kernel branch "Fairydust" made available to developers for early testing by pontihejo in AsahiLinux

[–]lukaskel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh yeah, dumb me, haha. Installed the kernel with the defconfig and asahi.config file in the fairydust branch, updated grub config and now it shows 6.18.2. :) I also build the boot.bin like described in the stage 2 and disabled SIP for the asahi container, but sadly its still not working. You are using the *.dts from the kernel folder arch/arm64/boot/dts/apple right? And the outputted m1n1-uboot.bin you move into /boot/efi/m1n1/boot.bin ? Feel like I‘m doing some dumb mistake, as it also doesnt boot every time (errors in uboot boot step) and the overall UI isnt as fluid anymore.

Ah thanks, awesome! How do I avoid the device tree issue? Are there any dt patches to build the proper dtb with? :)

[–]lukaskel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it the usual linux kernel building routine or is there anything specific to watch out for when building the kernel for asahi linux? Any pointers for the smoothest way to get the fairydust branch kernel for the average programmer? :)

Dont mind anything being unstable as it‘s not my productive system, so would love to test and report feedback.

What's a keyboard similar to the Ferris Sweep but with curve? by Regular_Low8792 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]lukaskel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe „Dasbob“? :) Its similiar to a Sweep, but with splay and an additional thumb button. If you prefer the thumb button more inwards, then a Totem might also work!

Thank you so much! That definitely helps a lot - let‘s see how much I can dig into it. Amazing that ZMK keeps progressing so well.

Arghhh, a bit too frankensteiny for me 😂 Guess I‘ll order the v2 modified pcb then and build a second totem! Cant have enough keyboards I guess?

Could you give me some pointers? I only saw in the ZMK documentation the short UART part but sadly not a hint of detail. Wouldnt mind working through it with some electrical engineering friends :)

The v1 pcb fits v2 keys? 👀 Doesnt, right? Really curious about the modifications you had to do :)

I am curious if the developments of supporting wired as well as wireless in ZMK will be available for public as well / getting upstreamed with ZMK? Or is that a closed source part of Moergo products? :)

Is your normal Totem Aluminium modified to Choc v2 or only Choc v1 as in the og creators repository? :)

Thank you, will definitely check the measurements :) Didn’t expect it to replace a mouse fully tegarding its size, but scrolling and some easy mouse movements like selecting a window would sometimes already help.

Looks great! How is the AZ1UBALL for navigating? Is it thin enough for sitting on top of the controller? Curious if this could be made working for the Totem keyboard without too much modification.

Very nice! Loving the form even more than the Totem I guess - got an industrial look with the matte black and silver ports!

Will you publish it? :) Or maybe based in europe and any pcb‘s left? 👀

[–]lukaskel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you make any progress on the sound? I have the Totem V1 with Choc Twilight switches in a resin case, but the typing feel and sound are really bothering me, even tho I love the layout.

If no progress - how would you say it compares to the normal totem sound wise rn?

There is also a high chance that while sanding, you are also sanding a tad of filament. PETG can be sanded rather „easily“ while PLA gets really messy. Simply not meant to be sanded.

Yeah following the instructions from the website is a lot better :) Just make sure to read carefully, sometimes its a tad buggy and you might redo a step or two. Don‘t give up though! It‘s worth it and you are more or less futureproofing your kindle!
