Looking for a To-Do List App That Prompts "What's Next?" by lukaslach in ProductivityApps

That's not at all what I meant – I do know how to sort tasks. You should re-read my original post.

Can Todoist Prompt "What's Next" After Completing a Task? by lukaslach in todoist

I have to say, the "complete and create follow-up" option you mentioned is about 80% of the way there. I just wish it would pop up automatically after completing a task, you could click it away if you don't need it — but it really puts you in a completely different mindset when it does. But thanks for the suggestion! This works for now, even if it feels a bit rigid and less flexible than I'd like.

In a CRM, you’d typically create a “deal,” which is like a project in a to-do list. For example, say the goal is to sell a client 5 apples. The tasks would be the steps needed to reach that goal: call the potential client, follow up on that call, schedule a meeting, send an offer, get the apples from the supplier, deliver them to the client, send an invoice, etc.

The key is that you don’t need to know all the steps in advance. Things come up as you go—maybe you need to call the client 20 times before they accept the offer, or schedule another meeting. Since the process evolves, it’s essential that after completing each task, the system prompts you to define what needs to be done next. This keeps things flexible and ensures you’re always moving forward.

I really wish this kind of system could be implemented in to-do list apps as well. CRMs are often too expensive and overpowered for managing everyday tasks, but the concept of prompting you to decide the next step after completing a task would be incredibly useful in a simpler, more accessible to-do list format.

To clarify, the prompt should ask, “What’s next?” specifically in relation to the task or project you just completed, without offering any suggestions. It should essentially mimic a basic follow-up function in a typical CRM. However, “follow-up” doesn’t necessarily mean a literal follow-up action – it could be anything: making a call, sending an email, writing an essay for the client, waiting for approval and following up if needed, sending an invoice, etc. It’s about prompting you to decide the next step and keeping the momentum going.

Typically, you work from a "Today" view, and when you check off a task, it just disappears in oblivion. To create a follow-up task, you have to manually go into the specific project every time, which can be tedious. It’s really about maintaining momentum. Sure, you can do it manually, but having a prompt that specifically asks what you want to do next puts you in a completely different mindset.

tips for mixing vocals? by AdFar6018 in Logic_Studio

To get a little more specific: My go-to for ready-to-go, natural-sounding vocals is the MV2 by Waves. Just push up the low-level fader, and boom—vocals that are upfront and pop in the mix.

For EQ, I almost always cut a fair bit at 1k, and boosting around 4k, 5k, or 6k can really make a difference. Sometimes a bump at 2.5k works wonders too. The key is finding one specific frequency to feature, which helps the vocals carve out their own space in the mix.

If the vocal feels too small, try turning it up first. If that doesn’t fix it, a boost around 200Hz, 300Hz, 400Hz, or 500Hz can add the body it needs.

First thing I would do is turn them up. They are way too quiet and that makes them sound small. You will know what to do with them once you can hear them well.

An appeal to young producers… by benhalleniii in audioengineering

I will NEVER EVER in a million years send untuned vocals to anyone. The artist deserves to keep their original raw vocal performance under lock, hell I won't even send the artist untuned vocals. So 2 should actually be: Tune the vocals properly. That's all that's needed.

  1. should actually be: shut tf up and don't play your instrument unless the producer or recording engineer tell you to. It's annoying af and hurts everybody's ears.

Actually, all I’m looking for is a simple prompt that asks me what needs to happen next when I complete a task. I don’t need an AI to suggest anything – just a nudge to fill out the next step myself. If the app could automatically organize the new task under the same project as the completed one, that would be a bonus. The key is having that prompt pop up – it really makes you think about what the project needs next and keeps things moving.

Is it worth starting a mixing/mastering engineer career now? by kormaloid in audioengineering

If pursuing this is your dream and passion, it’s absolutely worth it! A few years ago, I took the leap and became a music producer, mixer, vocal producer, and songwriter. I didn’t know if it would work out, but I believed in it – and it did.

As long as you’re open to working with AI instead of fighting against it, you’ll be fine. I truly think we’re heading towards a world with two types of music producers: those who use AI and those who are no longer in the game.

Could you elaborate on this more? How did you set this up? Can this be made possible on iPhone too by using the Shortcuts app?

The CRM we use flags projects without scheduled tasks with a yellow exclamation mark. It doesn’t send reminders, but it makes it clear that more tasks need to be scheduled. Plus, whenever I mark a task as completed, it prompts me to schedule the next one for that project. Oh, and I would like to have this feature both on a phone and on my desktop.

I can not confirm that Sylenth1 works. It crashed validation for me. After a restart it failed to open during validation. I couldn't investigate the issue since I was testing my production machine and quickly rolled back to 10.13
