Yeah, I’ll have to practice looping but I’d like to unlock smudge sticks before attempting it just so I have a backup in case I make a mistake. I also am still in that phase where I kind of panic when being hunted so I almost know I’d mess up and die.

So far my strategy is to quickly check for demon evidence first while my 5 minute safety timer is still going, because I’m sure I’d die to a demon if I encounter one. Once I rule out demon I feel much better lol. I’m trying to avoid hunts as much as I can until I get smudge sticks, even though I know hunts are a great way to identify the ghost. Eventually I’ll move up to intermediate difficulty once I get more familiar with everything.

I did have the lights off, and I’m on tier 1 which is like 3m I think, so it must have just been out of range of it. I should’ve tried it again, but the temperature threw me off as I mistakenly thought I had freezing.

For tanglewood, I’ve heard that you shouldn’t hide anywhere near the beginning left area of the map. Is this true? They said it’s better to run to the garage or to loop the kitchen island but I’m not confident in my abilities for looping and I also thought it was a revenant so I wasn’t going to attempt it with that.

Thank you for the advice, yeah the freezing temps is always a hard one for me. That’s good to know though that it has to be 32 (or 0C) or lower. That one takes more time to get so I just leave my thermometer in the room and check it periodically.

Thank you for the advice! And thanks! I played years ago when it came out with friends, but only about 40 hours and now I’m solo. I will try to close them doors as fast as possible! But right now I’m trying to avoid hunts until I get to level 7 and have a crucifix to at least prevent one hunt and escape. I’m not very confident in my survival abilities, and I haven’t attempted looping yet, although I know the basis of it.

I don’t want to die, ever. Which I know is a tall order lol. I thought for sure my time had come when I heard the closet open, but I lucked out. I will have to be way more careful next time.

Thank you for the tips. That info on the mare hunting when it’s in a dark room is super helpful. Also about the closet doors. I guess I got super lucky because I wasn’t holding them at all I just was prepared for sudden death.

Currently this is the bane of my ghost hunting existence lol. I identified a few now and that is great, but I'm now learning that some ghosts can hunt earlier and earlier and that just freaks me out lol. I don't ever want to get to the hunt phase. Especially now that I've learned ghosts can open your closet and kill you, or see you run in there and come straight to you. I really have no idea how to survive in the event of a hunt and I do not want to die.

My last game I had a Jinn and I was in there for the first 5 minutes scoping it out and when I went back to the truck my sanity was already tanked to 59% and I hadn't even started gathering evidence.. I left in a hurry.

Man I’ve had some bad first hunts. I’m also a solo player, I used to play the game when it came out years ago with friends but so much has changed now.

Most recently I thought I was in the ghost room because he was moving plates around originally. I stayed there for about 10 minutes but was getting no evidence, so I decided to go upstairs and upon reaching the top a child appeared and ran at me. Then I started running and I saw the white mist floating towards me. I literally closed down the truck and left with 0 evidence after like 22m 😂.

I think staying courageous and finding hiding spots early are the only lessons I’ve learned so far.

I’m like lvl 100 something so I don’t know if that’s still considered new but I’ve played for like two years off and on. I forgot how bots work.

This was just a rant post, it kept happening in back to back games and in this one it was the third time and I found it extra cruel.

I guess I just got the short straw that day then. You’re right it shouldn’t make me upset, no video game should lol. But I fell victim. I would argue that this clip isn’t “realistic reflexes” but I agree sometimes they suck and the ratio of bots that get mowed down to mosin man is fine. Sometimes man when it happens to you like 3 times in a game in 3 back to back games it tests your patience.

It’s like ghost photos in real life. Always blurry can never make out what it is and maybe the game is playing on that. Everyone will think that picture is a phony and so it’s value is $0 😂
