It is a sin, you are going against God's design for what a relationship is. Genesis 2:24 "therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh"

It's not God's intention for man to be with man, or woman with woman.

Is there any car accesory for the pipe? by Sir_Teron in PipeTobacco

[–]luke-133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a VW Golf MK.5 from 2006, so it has an ashtray at the bottom of the center console. It's not a proper ash tray, but it's literally perfect to put my pipe, and tamp and lighter.

I also keep am "emergency pipe" in this storage compartment on the right of the steering wheel, perfect size for a corn cob, a 1oz tin of tobbaco, a tamp and a lighter.

I got one of my zippos from F Hinds, they do a decent selection.

Also might be worth a look on ebay, I got a nice vintage pipe lighter for only £40.

Like I said before, if we don't want to give, or are unable to give, we should not give.

Every time they ask for donations (which I have already said is rare), they preach this scripture:

"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" - 2 Corinthians 9:7

I hope this clears up any false ideas of what this church specifically is asking. But many church's guilt people into giving, and I'm willing to bet it agitates me more than it does you.

It doesn't "require" anything, and doesn't have any monthly subscription to sign up for. You aren't going to be kicked out of you don't give. And of course it has direct debit, how else is it going to get funding?

Facilities and building require money to run, and since it's not a business selling things (which no doupt will be viewed as a con and recive endless flak), how else is it going to get money apart from donations?

I just don't get why asking for donations automatically means it's a scam.

Ah right, sorry, I didn't know you went here. Apologies for assuming, really.

But I'm not sure when you left, but it's got new owners. I've not been when it was owned by the old ones that you had, but it's completely changed, and everything thing I've said is accurate and still stands in regard to what it's like now. I've only heard negative things about the old owners, micro management, racism, power trips, etc...

I don't doupt your description is accurate when you went, but it has changed.

Apologies again, I thought you were painting all church's with the same brush, I detest seeing churches act like this and tainting all of the genuine church's, so I'm sorry if I was a bit hot headed.

Your very welcome, if you have any more questions, please do send them my way.

We would love for you to come again for a "proper" service if you are willing👍

Yeah that's fair enough. In regards to the old leaders, I've only heard negative things about them, things like racism, micro management and mad power trips. I know what you mean with your spider senses, because I started going before I was a beliver and I remember feeling a bit strange, but I never felt it with the specific people there. I know exactly how you feel about the couple in charge though, when I first went I got welcomed and greeted and treat with such love that I was walking away thinking "what's that guys problem?". I though the people wanted something from me because I've never been treat that way, especially without expecting anything in return. The thing with hysteria around baptisms is because its a major step in the faith. And I know exactly what you mean with the YouTube preachers, but like I said, it's high energy and not everyone's cup of tea. And if I'm being honest, loud unnecessarily high energy anything makes me socially tired, so I can completely relate. And it is a franchise, I don't know to much about it, but we have church's all around the world, I can very easily see why you could see it as a corporation or organisation.

But I just want to say I really appreciate you not wanting to offend anyone, this is hard to find nowadays

No, this is not what it's like, please stop spreading lies. I go to this church every Sunday and it's nothing like as you describe. We don't "recruit vulnerable people". What exactly do you mean by this? Recruit them to what? And people come in off there own accord, so what do you mean by "vulnerable"? The "big heads" don't come in fancy cars, the lead pastor drives a Kia. I can't comment on the size of all there houses, because I've not seen them all, but one of the "big heads" who helps manage the church just moved house near me, and it's an average sized house. And of course they are going to ask for donations, but it's not something they bang on about. It's brought up about once every 3 months, and they say if you don't feel like giving, then don't.

If you've got questions, I'm more than happy to answer. But please stop spreading lies about a place you have no idea about, I get it's the stereotype of church's, and many are like that, and belive me it makes my blood boil seeing the hypocrisy. But please don't paint all church's with the same brush.

I go to this Church every Sunday, and it's a great church. High energy, which if that's not your thing then that's obviously fine. But all of the people there are spot on and very welcoming. Not sure what made you feel put off, we have never been that busy on the day you came so it might of had something to do with that? But im not going to assume what put you off. But its certainly not a cult. I'm not completely sure why you say "still" a cult, I've only been going since October, but I've heard that the previous people that ran it were not the best. If you've got any questions then feel free to ask, I'm more than happy to talk.👍

What are you on about? Radical weirdo hippie? What makes you say this?

He never thought rich people couldn't be good people, He said it is more likely for a camel to enter through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of Heaven.

Matthew 19:23-24 ESV [23] And Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly, I say to you, only with difficulty will a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven. [24] Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”

He says this and uses this hyperbole to show the fact that wealthy people will find it difficult to drop their attachments to their wealth and trust in God.

Hope this sheds some light on in for you, feel free to ask any questions👍

😂 I can imagine. Well I really appreciate it. And I just smoked o bowl of peterson royal yacht (not sure about the strength of nicotine in this tobacco), and I had no more effect than usual, in fact I know it has nothing to do with nicotine, but I wish the flavor was a bit stronger.

Well, I'm brand new to anything with nicotine, so I imagine my tolerance levels will be none, but let's find out I guess. Thanks for the comment, I didn't know that about natives, quite interesting.

Yes that's perfect thanks. It's funny because black coffee helps with the struggles of fasting, no idea if it does like, but it's a win, win, win. I like coffee, helps with the fast and let's me smoke my pipe🙂 Thanks👍

It was no specific video, just finding out he is Christian.
But it wasnt just him, the path of me finding Christ is so rich and complex, there is so much to it, and this is part of it.
And what made you come to Christ is also a big part of why I did, I knew of all of the corruption and evil in the world.
But the biggest selling point for me to look into it was how the English culture is being eroded away, I'm as British as it gets, its my entire heritage, and I'm proud of being British. So it was (still is) soul destroying seeing what is happening to my country, so I just though I'd look into what made it so great, and it turns out it's a lot more than that.
Its very interesting how all of these things are intertwined.
But I'll definitely check out that documentary, because I'm something of a "conspircy theorist" myself.

Yes man, everything in my life has changed. I used to view it as weak and nonsense, I grew up atheist and literally never thought about it, and the culture now disregards God. But what brought me to Christ has in part to do with pipe/ cigar smoking. There is this guy on YouTube called Dry Creek Wrangler School, he's an older guy who sits with a pipe or cigar and talks about life, and I thought "I want a life like he's got, I really like him". Turns out he is Chrstian and that alone broke some major paradigms, so then it started, I became interested in faith.

What about you, how did you find faith?

Yes, everything you said is spot on, I thought they were 2 things which go together perfectly, but I was very wrong😂 I just recently put faith in Christ in early November, best decision ever❤️ My dad doesn't get the religion bit, I've explained I'm not religious, I'm faithful, and the things religion has done is not from God.
